The Trendiest Smokey Eyeshadow Looks To Try Out

Smokey eyeshadow is one of my favourite looks ever. They are versatile, fun, and plain and simple- sexy! When creating a smokey eye, the sky is the limit. The options are endless and they are pretty fool-proof too.

You don’t need to be an expert to create a smokey eye, all you need is a few good eyeshadow shades and some good brushes.

I’ve put together some of the prettiest smokey eyeshadow looks on the internet. I’ve tried to include every colour because there’s a smokey-eye look for every situation and occasion!

1. Purple Glitter Smokey Eyeshadow

Starting off with a bang we have this gorgeous purply smokey eyeshadow. I love that it has from white to black included, it makes the eyeshadow all the more dramatic and effective!

You can do this look with or without the shimmer, she’s added the shimmer and I think it speaks for itself!

2. Metallic Heat

Turn your smokey eye into something special with a dazzling metallic, in this case, it’s got stunning pink and purple shades, but any colour will work!

Finish the look by bedazzling the inner corner and under the brow! You will be party-ready with eye makeup like this!

3. Natural and Easy Smokey Eye

Simple, yet effective. You won’t need much for this look to work. All you need is 2-3 shades and some light blending. It’s a very natural smokey eye, perfect for those beginning with makeup!

4. Mint Green Shimmer

I never thought I would find mint green eyeshadow pretty, but honestly, this eyeshadow is beautiful! I love the shimmer on top, I can’t imagine matte mint green eyes looking all that great. But then again, I could be wrong:)

5. Neutral Bronze Glam

When I imagine the perfect smokey eye, this is the image that comes to my mind. Obviously, it helps to have a gorgeous-shaped eye as this model has!

The colouring looks even better with her colour eyes because they’re close to complementary colours so they complement each other well!

6. Hot and Pink

Similar to the previous smokey eye, this one just has a lot more pink. If you love your pinks, then you’ll love this eye look! Personally, I’m more of a neutral fan, but both looks are fab!

7. Dragon Eyes

This may be more of a Halloween eyeshadow look than a regular smokey look, but I thought I’d include it to bring a bit more colour to the page! It may be a little harder to recreate than some of the other looks, but the effects are wow!

8. Vampire Vibes

Vampire eyes, yay or nay? I think they can be party eyes too! Easy to recreate, yet highly effective due to their deep, dark silvery colour!

9. Timeless Neutrals

This eyeshadow look reminds me of my eyeshadow at my wedding, although I don’t think mine was quite as shimmery. This is one of those timeless eyeshadow looks that has withstood the changes in fashion!

10. Icy Blue

Looking at these blue eyes makes me feel cold! They are spectacular and very icy looking, especially with that shimmer right under the eye. I love it!

11 Green and Gold

If green eyeshadow is your thing, you will love this smokey eye! With a green and gold gradient, it’s pretty not too difficult to pull off!

If you look closely you’ll also notice that the eye colour is a coloured contact! Nowadays, you can change anything!

12. Heated Blue

I know we already did a smokey blue, but come on, it’s James Charles and I simply couldn’t pass on it. Besides, James’s look is slightly different from the previous blue look. There’s more white and the smoke is more intense. Use one of these best smokey palettes to get the look.

13. Starry Eyes

I love this soft smokey eye, the orange and deep pinkish colours of the eyeshadow work really well together. What I wouldn’t have done though, is the pink mascara at the bottom.

However, it surprisingly works well! Kind of how sweet and spicy work together, you don’t think they go, but when you try it, they are perfect!

14. Sunflower Mix

If you ever wanted to look like a flower, but simply couldn’t pull it off, now’s your opportunity! All jokes aside, creating this colourful eyeshadow look requires patience and talent and I think she’s done a fab job! Besides, I really do see the sunflower in it:)

15. Golden Glow

It doesn’t get more beautiful than golden eyes! The eyes are subtle and classy with a touch of glamorous smoke to them.

16. Smokin’ Hot

This neutral smokey eye is everything! I often imagine this is what I look like when I do a smokey eye on myself. Well, I can promise it turns out nothing like this! Somehow my good intentions don’t come to fruition!

17. Deep Purple

I know we’ve already covered a few smokey purple eyeshadow looks, but none are as deep and rich as this one. There are so many variations to what you can create with one colour, and this is proof of it!

18. Whine about Wine

A little twist on the classic smokey eyeshadow. It kinda does something weird to the shape of the eye though, it makes it appear a bit droopy.

Whether you love or hate it, we can all agree, that it’s eyeshadow done well! Check out the ColourPop Wine & Only eyeshadow palette, it’s the perfect palette to create this look with.

19. Turquoise Yellow

The blue and yellow colours are wow, but it’s the details here that you need to look out for! Check out the inner eyeliner on the lower lids. Wow! Even if I would do that, it wouldn’t last for longer than a minute without it being rubbed off! The colours are beautiful and the detail is amazing!

20. Neutral Does It

If you didn’t look twice, you can almost miss that she’s wearing eyeshadow at all! Sometimes it’s the subtle looks that are the most effective! Did I mention that I love my neutrals? Add a bit of sparkle to it and it’s complete!

21. Feeling Dark

A softer take on the classic goth look, this eyeshadow look gives you deep black. It has some added sparkle with the black blending out softly, giving it a much less intense feel.
