The Best Glitter Eye Makeup Ideas to Get You Sparkling

Matte eyeshadow may be all the rage at the moment, but glitter and shimmer eyeshadow will never go out of style. Especially during the holiday season! Glitter is fun and sparkly which is something we all need in our life!

We’ve put together the best glitter eyeshadow looks and ideas for the ultimate sparkle.

From subtle to full-on glitter, there’s something for everyone’s taste as well as every makeup level. Beginner to professional, we’ve got you covered!

1. Dramatic gold cut-crease

Make a dramatic entrance with this cut-crease eyeshadow look. Use glittery gold eyeshadow on the lids. For a fabulous contrast, use thick black eyeliner and apply some black shadow to the cut-crease too.

2. Glitter foil eyeshadow

This eyeshadow look puts many glitter eyeshadow looks to shame! It’s not too much, yet it has foil eyeshadow in pinks, and greens, with a touch of gold that together is seriously buzzing!

Ready to mesmerise your friends? This foil eyeshadow look is the way to go!

3. Rainbow shimmer

Whether you love James Charles or not, one thing you’ve got to admit is that he’s a star at makeup! Every look he tries is brilliant and this one is no different.

If you don’t want an all-out-there rainbow situation but still want a rainbow, this look is the perfect marriage. It features nearly all the colors of the rainbow but focuses mainly on the shimmery blues.

Of course, you can choose whichever color of the rainbow you want to feature!

4. Emerald green shimmers

This deep and dark green eyeshadow look is ideal for the cold, winter months. It has something cosy to it, which the shimmer definitely adds to!

5. Bella inspired eyeshadow

Turn your childhood fairytale dream into a reality with this princess-inspired eyeshadow. Inspired by Bella from Beauty and the Beast, the colors are based on her dress.

Add some glitter and gems to the eyelids to get the full dazzle!

6. Under the sea eyes

Since we were already on the topic of Disney, this eyeshadow look is giving me strong sea vibes, Under The Sea is a very fitting name!

Get this look with shimmery blue and turquoise, and add some beautiful rhinestones to tie it all together. Use the Aurora Struck Eyeshadow Palette by ColourPop to get this look.

7. Blue outline

Recreate this glittery look with any eyeshadow color of your choice- it doesn’t need to be blue! That being said, it does look fantabulous in blue.

This look is perfect if you want a dramatic look that doesn’t involve heavy eyeshadow!

8. Icy purple

Purple and silver are a great colour combination, they always look beautiful together!

They’re a good choice of colours for those who aren’t so confident in their blending skills because if the shades aren’t blended properly, it’s not so noticeable!

9. Holographic glitter look

And it’s another blue eyeshadow look! But, again, you can change it to any colour that you want, this look will work with any because it’s all about the glitter here!

This look is super-easy to recreate, all you need is an intensely glittery eyeshadow, simply apply it on top of a base color. The results will not let you down!

I recommend using an eyeshadow primer for this look, the bigger and looser the glitter, the more help it needs to stay on.

10. Inner corner shimmer

This look is ideal for those who want to keep this simple, classy and elegant, but still want some shimmer! Give your eyes a pop of color by applying some glittery eyeshadow to the inner corner!

11. Christmas tree eyeshadow

Truth be told, we have a whole post dedicated to Christmas eyeshadow looks. But can we really do a glitter eyeshadow post without some holiday looks?!

This Christmas tree-inspired eyeshadow look really looks a lot like a Christmas tree. From the different shades of green to the colorful glitter that resembles colorful baubles!

12. Icy cold look

Here’s another holiday look, but that’s to be expected. After all, there’s no better time for glitter eyeshadow than the holiday season!

To get this look, apply matte eyeshadow to the lid and on the inner half of the eyelid apply your favourite glitter. To finish it off draw a snowflake in white on the outer corner. Add some gems to the snowflake to complete it!

13. Classy in bronze

Glitter eyeshadow doesn’t always need to be out there, and this look is proof of that! It’s elegant and sophisticated while not compromising on its glitter!

14. Glittery brows

Keep the eyeshadow simple and add some fun to the brows! This eye look is super cute and original.

Apply a glittery winged eyeliner and instead of applying more eyeshadow to the lid, brighten up your brows with glitter!

15. Shimmery smoke

Glittery eyeshadow always looks fab with a smokey eye. They complement each other perfectly! Use a deep maroon to get this look and taper off the smoke with some pink and yellow!

16. Bling Wing Liner

This look may not technically be a glitter look, but it’s shimmery enough to make it on this blog post! And how could I leave out a look as stunning as this one?

Leave the eyeshadow simple, and give all the attention to the eyeliner. Apply your favourite gemstones to create this gorgeous winged eyeliner!

My Thoughts

There’s no shortage of glitter eye makeup inspiration! We’ve brought you a drop in the ocean, but it includes some of the most gorgeous and creative eyeshadow looks!

Wear them to a wedding, a party or even every day, there’s a look for every occasion! We hope these have inspired you to get creative and try out something new!
