The Best Smokey Eyeshadow Palettes In 2022
Is any eyeshadow palette review ever complete without a Natasha Denona palette? I don’t think so!
Starting off these smokey palettes, we have the beautiful Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette! Glam indeed, this palette is perfection in every way. With 15 cool and neutral shades, it’s the ideal palette to create a smoky eye with.
A cute and useful add on to the glam palette is that the shades are labelled to help you create the perfect look. You don’t need to be a pro at a smokey eye, the palette tells you exactly what to do with names like ‘outer eye lid’ and ‘crease’.
It features mostly metallics and shimmers, but it has enough mattes to create a matte look too. Like all Natasha Denona makeup, the Glam eyeshadow palette has amazingly soft and easy-to-use shades. Buttery to use, with very little fallout this eyeshadow palette will not fail you!
The Glam Palette also features in our post the best neutral eyeshadow palettes. Yep, it’s that good!
If you’re not after that intense black smokey eye look then the Morphe 18T Truth or Bare Artistry Palette is ideal for you.
While it has all the shades for a smoky eye, it doesn’t have a deep brown or black, that being said, if you have pale skin this palette will work fine!
You have a dark brown for a smokey eye look as well as deep purples. And there are plenty of light shades as well as middle-range shimmers.
You can opt for a pink, or purple look, or stick to the beige neutrals which you can never go wrong with!
I simply couldn’t pass on this palette because just look how gorgeous it is! The shade range is amazing and the shadows are creamy and easy to apply without much fallout.
Like with all eyeshadows, if you want it to stay in place I recommend using an eyeshadow primer.
Did you know a smokey eye look doesn’t need to be with only neutral shades? It’s a common mistake, but you can use any shades you like, all you need is a lighter shade and a darker one.
The Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Chilled with cannabis sativa Eyeshadow Palette has a gorgeous selection of greens and turquoises to add some spunk to your smokey eyes.
They’ve also managed to add in some pinks, golds and browns so it’s a palette of endless possibilities.
Not expecting to see cannabis sativa in your eyeshadow palette? Yep, you’re right. Usually, cannabis sativa is found in skincare products due to its powerful hydrating properties and abundant antioxidants.
However, Revolution Beauty has treated us to this lovely ingredient in its eyeshadow palette. Not only will your eyes look gorgeous, but they’ll also benefit from the nourishing ingredients of the eyeshadow palette.
We love Revolution Beauty makeup, it’s affordable, fun and good quality- everything you need in good makeup! They have the balance in quality vs price which isn’t something all brands manage to get right!
Yep, it’s another natural eyeshadow palette for you! This time it’s the bestselling Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette.
Just looking at it, you can imagine why it’s a bestseller! It has the most gorgeous warm-toned pink, gold and brown shades.
If you know Too Faced quality, then you know that this isn’t only a palette that looks gorgeous, but it’s one that delivers too!
The 16 highly pigmented shades are infused with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and coconut water to keep the skin hydrated and looking youthful!
With a full range of mattes to metallics and shimmers, there’s something for every occasion! Be it a smoky party look, or a neutral everyday look, this palette has it all!
Here’s another bestselling fantabulous neutral palette! Ideal for smokey looks as well as all other ones, the ColourPop Bare Necessities is jam-packed with colours and options!
With 30 shades the number of looks you can create is endless, it features beige, browns, golds and pinks in every finish. It also has a deep black shade for the ultimate smokey eye.
When it comes to ColourPop eyeshadow palettes, it’s rather hard to decide what to love more- the prices, creative shades and palettes or the quality. For me, it’s all of it! Their shades are alive, bright and blend like a dream!
From what I hear on the grapevine, there’s a new 30-pan palette on the way called Smoke N’ Roses. Similar to Bare Necessities but with pinkier shades!
Create a smokey eye with a twist using the Urban Decay Naked Honey Eyeshadow Palette. If you want a bit more colour than the traditional natural smokey eye, this is the palette for you.
Ideal for those with warm-toned skin due to its rich warm-toned shades, the gold shades will add sparkle and life to your eyes. You can still create a smokey eye with the deep brown shade and the beige ones.
Urban Decay Naked palettes are bestsellers and the Naked Honey is no exception. It has 12 golden shades that are super-pigmented and apply creamily and smoothly. Easy to blend with very little fallout, this palette is a dream to use!
Another useful addition is that it comes with an eyeshadow brush- an add-on you can’t go wrong with!
The Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette is a favourite by many for a smoky eye look. Just looking at the palette you can understand why.
It has all the shades for a fab smokey eye, make it intense with the black shade or keep it subtle with one of the brown shades. It has a combination of matte and shimmer finishes making it the ideal palette for an everyday look as well as a party one.
If you love your neutrals, you will love this palette!
I love how all the shades in the palettes are useful. All too often we use only a few shades in a palette, leaving some completely untouched. Well, that’s not the case here. Each and every shade is beautiful and useful!
The palette is long-wearing and made with Amazonian clay to prevent smudging and creasing. It’s also dermatologist and pathologist tested.
A more budget-friendly palette is the Nyx Cosmetics Ultimate Shadow Palette. It comes in 7 different palettes, but the best one for a smokey eye look is the palette Smokey & Highlight. Yep, the name speaks for itself.
The palette has all the light and dark shades to create a dramatic smokey eye. In addition to the ‘regular’ smokey eye shades, it also has a pop of blue, green and purples to add some fun to your eye look!
The palette comes with 18 highly pigmented, easy-to-blend shades. It’s very affordable, but sometimes that comes with a price and in this case, there is some fallout.
Use an eyeshadow primer to get those shadows sticking to your lids, there will be less fallout and your eyeshadow will last all day!
The Lorac Pro Matte Eye Shadow Palette is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get, no-frill kinda eyeshadow palette. However, what you do get is a good quality eyeshadow palette that does the job.
Lorac Pro is ideal for those with sensitive skin as they only use ingredients that are gentle and non-irritating.
This is an all-matte eyeshadow palette featuring 8 richly pigmented mattes that are ideal for a matte smokey eye look. The shades are all smooth and creamy, making them super easy to apply.
The shades are long-lasting, they literally last all day! It’s a palette that delivers- it does what it says and it does it to perfection! If you’ve been looking for a good quality matte palette that’s not too pricey this is the one for you!
It’s all in the name with this stunning Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette – Smokey Eyes Are Forever! Charlotte Tilbury sure knows how to dress up her palettes with her flowery wording, however, this palette is seriously legit in terms of quality!
The palette comes with 12 highly pigmented, rich shades that literally have zero fallout, even the shimmery ones. It’s split into 4 categories for 4 eye looks, but really any shade can be mixed and matched.
You can create various looks with this palette including beautiful smokey eyes! Keep it neutral or add a pop of colour with the green, pink or goldish shade!
The main factors of a good eyeshadow palette are the quality and the shade range. A pretty eyeshadow palette that has a lot of fallout is not a palette worth investing in, and the same applies to a good quality palette with shades that are a bit meh.
If you love smokey eyes then investing in a good quality eyeshadow palette is a must and it will save you lots of agro in the future!
The eyeshadow palettes included here are all great quality, with a range of prices for every budget.
We’ve also tried to include as much colour range as possible because even though I’m a neutral lover, I know not everyone is! I hope you’ve found the smokey eyeshadow palette that you love!
