10 Neutral Eyeshadow Looks For All Occasions And Levels

What is your favourite eyeshadow look? For me, it’s got to be a neutral eye look! While some may consider this boring, I like to think it’s classy and elegant!

You can never go wrong with a neutral eye and you have to admit, it’s pretty timeless too! There are so many neutral and nude eyeshadow looks to try that they are anything but boring!

I’ve put together some of the best neutral eyeshadow looks for all occasions. Included are party looks as well as every day and work ones! Also included are looks for every skill level, from beginner to pro, I’ve got you covered!

1. Subtle Nude Smoke Eyeshadow

A subtle smokey eye is the perfect eye look when you’re not sure how heavy you want your eye makeup to be. It has the smokey effect, but not in an overpowering way.

Use eyeshadow colours that are similar to your skin colour. The tones of her eyes match that of her face which gives the whole face a soft elegant look.

Add a bit of smokiness in the outer corner, some black liner on top and on the lower lashes, and finish it off with some dashing fake lashes!

2. Fall Eyeshadow Vibes

This eyeshadow look is not only elegant but also very easy. Using only one or 2 shades of rose pink you can pull off this look and you don’t need to be a pro to get it right.

Eventhough this eyeshadow look is fall-inspired, you can pull it off any time of the year.

3. Cut Crease Eye Look

Whether you love or hate James Charles, one thing you can’t deny is that he knows how to apply makeup like a pro!

Usually, a cut crease eye look is heavier, but here’s proof that you can create an understated cut crease eye that looks subtle and not overpowering.

To get this look, stick to neutral matte eyeshadows and use a base shade lighter than your skin shade.

4. Neutral Glam Eyeshadow

Turn your classic neutral eye into a glamorous piece of work! Yep, Nikki knows how to do makeup and get it right, but so can you! This eyeshadow look is stunning, but it’s much more effective on darker skin tones than light ones. It’s the contrast that makes it so fab!

Use an almost white shimmer in the inner corner to really bring out the wow factor!

5. Smokey Halo Effect

When you think of a halo eyeshadow look, usually it has a shimmery pop of eyeshadow colour in the centre of the eyelid. However, halo eyeshadow looks are not limited to that.

They can be subtle and this eyeshadow look is proof of that. While the bright middle doesn’t overpower the eyes, it still brightens the eyes and opens up the centre of the lids which are otherwise dark and smokey!

6. Glowing Glowing Everywhere

Glow all the way with this beautiful glowing makeup look! The eyeshadow is all neutral with shimmery gold added to give it some sparkle. Perfect for the holiday season or weddings!

7. Pink And Coral Eyeshadow

These eyes just about make it into the neutral eyeshadow looks. It’s debatable whether pink is still neutral, but I think it is. Ideal for the person who wants a minute smoke that has some colour to it. The coral adds a lot and ties into the blush colour too.

If you have green eyes, this eye look will make your eyes pop! The Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette by Charlotte Tilbury is the ideal palette to recreate this look with.

8. Neutral purple eyeshadow look

Hands down, this is one of the most gorgeous neutral eyes ever. It also helps if you happen to be gorgeous too! But fear not, this look will look crushingly good on anyone.

It’s subtle, and elegant and enhances the natural features without demanding attention. It’s also pretty easy to achieve, apply a nude shade all over the lid and apply a subtle smokey grey-purple shade in the outer corners.

Just be sure to blend the shades properly for the desired effect. Pair it with a matte nude lip to finish the look perfectly!

9. Nude Cat Eye

Is there any makeup look that Mario doesn’t ace?! Well, we haven’t come across it yet!

This neutral cat eye is gorgeous and ideal for anyone who wants to make their eyes appear wider. It also has a subtle cut-crease effect which makes it look a lot more dramatic.

Use Makeup by Mario’s own line of makeup to get this look.

10. Barely There Neutral Eyeshadow Look

Some neutral eye looks are all about not noticing that there’s makeup at all. The eyeshadow is there simply to enhance the look of the person, without actually being a statement.

This may look easy to pull off but actually, it requires skill as well as some practice to get right. Use shades as close to your skin colour as possible and make sure you blend, blend and blend!

My Thoughts

Experimenting with different eyeshadow looks is a great way to practise your eyeshadow skills, and have fun being creative. And as you can see, neutral eyeshadow looks are far from boring!

They are the perfect eyeshadow look for when you’re not sure what look to create! And like already mentioned, neutral is timeless and classy, you can never go wrong with it. (Except, maybe for a Halloween party:))

There are loads of different eyeshadow looks that you can create, from fall and winter looks to silver, yellow, and blue ones. Stay tuned for more eyeshadow looks that will be coming in the near future.
