There are so many exciting new makeup releases for January 2020, among them the new additions to the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk collection! Charlotte Tilbury is launching ten more products in her best-selling collection – Pillow Talk. That includes the highly anticipated limited edition, Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette! I generally love Charlotte Tilbury’s products, and I’m thoroughly excited about this release.
If you don’t already know, Charlotte Tilbury is a well-known makeup artist for both models and celebrities for over 20 years. Her products and their packaging are luxurious and sprinkled in elegance, with many of them being best sellers. Take the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Palettes & The Hollywood Contour Duo products; these are just two of my favourite Charlotte Tilbury products!
Back in 2014, Charlotte Tilbury released the highly successful collection, Pillow Talk. This year, she’s releasing more exciting products to add to the line of Pillow Talk! Before we review the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette, let’s first talk about the pioneering products of the Pillow Talk Collection.
When Charlotte Tilbury first launched the Pillow Talk Lip-Liner in 2014, it was an instant hit. The pink-toned neutral shade liner is perfect for the ‘my lips but better’ look, and it’s a holy grail in many people’s makeup collections. Following the successful launch of Pillow Talk Lip Liners, they released equally impressive matte lipsticks.
They then continued on with an eyeshadow quad and a powder blusher, all of which sold out in the first few minutes! The first Pillow Talk Eyeshadow in the line is the Luxury Palette Collection. This features 12 different 4 pans palettes, each with a different colour combination. The palettes are much smaller than the latest release, Pillow Talk Eye Palette which is a full-size eyeshadow palette.
As the new year approached, Charlotte Tilbury teased us with their upcoming collection for Pillow Talk which features:
- NEW Shades for Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Liners and Matte Revolution
- NEW Pillow Talk Eyeliner
- NEW Intense Pillow Talk Blush
- NEW Pillow Talk Collagen Lip Bath
- 2 NEW Pillow Talk Beauty Light Wand
- and of course, the 12-shade Pillow Talk Eye Palette!
There will be new shades for the lip-liners and lipsticks which they claim will suit more skin tones, as well as new shades of blush! The Pillow Talk Eyeliner, The Pillow Talk Beauty Light Wand and The Pillow Talk Collagen Lip Bath are new additions to this collection which we’re all certainly looking forward to.
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette made its grand entrance at the Golden Globes, with the likes of Michelle Williams and Salma Hayek, wearing this beautiful palette on their eyes.
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette has 12-shades that is divided into four sections.
Housed in a long and beautiful gold palette. Once opened, it includes a plastic insert that has numbers and labels on it — 1 for prime shade, 2 for enhancing shade and 3 for a smokey look. These labels are a guide to make it easier for you when applying the shadows, especially if you are a beginner. I think this is really helpful and since they don’t have individual shade names, it is a useful indicator for which shades are which. That doesn’t mean you need to stick to the guide, mix and match as you wish and let your creative juices flow!
The Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette has 4 different sections with three shades in each section. This sectioning really helps to decide on a look based on what you are going for. It makes the palette really user-friendly and suitable for all levels of makeup, from beginners to professionals!
This palette has a combination of both matte and metallic shades.
From left to right:
As the name suggests, this is more of daytime-appropriate shades. The Day section features peachy and champagne tones that will glam up your everyday.
The Desk section also features shades for the daytime with mattes that blend like a dream! Perhaps they’re called desk because they’re perfect for work, I don’t know, but I think they make excellent colours for work! The shades are deep peachy and nude shades that you can use as a transition shade and even blend on your crease solely for a more uniform eyeshadow.
This trio features deeper browns, the Date section is perfect for a smokey look. You will be able to add a lot of depth to your eyes with these brown shades. Perfect for a date;)
Pink and pink and pink! The Dream section is a dream for pink-eyeshadow lovers out there. This section is nothing short of stunning. It has two metallic shimmers that are subtle but still sparkly on your eyes. With the dreamy shades, you will be able to create a truly dreamy look, pun intended!
Right off the bat, The Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette shadows are super buttery and creamy as you swatch them. For the pigmentation, the mattes have very little fallout and they are blendable and consistent. The shadows stay intact throughout the day without fading.
The shimmers do have some fallout when you pack them on, just like most other metallic shades. They are also a lot more subtle than the mattes, but they are still noticeable and have a beautiful sparkle to them.
The Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette gives a really romantic and rosy vibe which you can create multiple different looks, be it a daytime look or a romantic evening look. This palette has you covered!
Love the rosy tones? Do you want a soft glam look for every day? The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette is a MUST for you! And I suggest that you purchase the palette while it’s available, it’s a limited edition. This palette is perfect for the romantic, neutral, warm and pink-loving girls out there who want high-quality and luxurious eyeshadows.
As for the packaging, it’s beautiful! But it seems quite lightweight, it would be nice if it had a more luxe-weight feel to it, on the other hand though, it does make it easier to travel with!
So far, the Pillow Talk Eye Palette runs along with Charlotte Tilbury’s excellent products. It has superb quality shadows that are creamy and blendable. They swatch perfectly and are extremely pigmented!
In the coming weeks, they will be releasing more on the Pillow Talk Collection, which I am definitely looking forward to!
