Can there ever be too many concealers on the market? I think not! With all these fabulous brands like Hourglass releasing countless amazing products, I say, keep ’em coming! And with that, I introduce the NEW Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer!
Luxurious and with superior quality, Hourglass Cosmetics was built based on helping skin to look better and prevent it from harsh reactions. Carisa Janes, the founder of Hourglass, struggled with her problem skin and wanted to create products that don’t cause breakouts. With that, she worked to formulate oil-free products that have anti-ageing ingredients as well as SPF.
Launched in 2004, Hourglass doesn’t fall short on the quality and exquisite packaging of their products. Their packaging is sleek and aesthetically pleasing and is among the most luxurious and elegant out there. Since their launch, they have developed new products and produced many successful collections. One of them being the NEW Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer!
Hourglass Cosmetics rang in the new year with the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer! The concealer has 22 shades, ranging from fair, medium and deep skin tones. This concealer is an extension of their Vanish line, the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick, Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation and Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick. These are among the best sellers on Hourglass. The reviews are outstanding for the Vanish line, and people couldn’t get enough of it! With the amazing reviews on the Vanish line, everyone has high hopes for this concealer!
The Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer has many claims: “A full-coverage, weightless, waterproof concealer with innovative microspherical powders that blur and brighten for up to 16 hours of instant skin perfection. This crease-resistant, light-reflecting liquid concealer blends seamlessly into skin and diffuses the look of pores and fine lines. The highly pigmented formula evens skin tone to conceal dark circles, blemishes and other imperfections for a smooth, natural, airbrushed finish. It includes a custom applicator that provides the perfect amount of product for all-over coverage.”
In a sleek wand-like packaging with an ample-sized doe-foot applicator, this is another product that represents their very luxurious and well-curated packaging. It has 6 mL of product which is the usual amount of a liquid concealer. What’s good about it is that – with just one dip, you’ll be able to have enough product to apply on your skin. The concealer will last you a long time!
When trying out the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer, I noticed immediately how smoothly it applies. I tried out the lightest colour and I think the colour was pretty good. Not too orange, pink or white! Unlike other concealers, this doesn’t feel heavy, and it is pretty lightweight on the skin. It is comfortable to wear and a little goes a long way. Be aware that once you blend it out, it dries really fast. It sets pretty well too so if you want to use a setting powder, you need to apply it straight away to catch it before it dries.
When it comes to concealer, the 3 most important features that I look at are the coverage, how it lasts and how long it lasts for.
The Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer has definitely impressed me. It gives full coverage that covers all dark circles and pigmentation and the texture is very skinlike and natural. It also has a pretty good lasting power and it stays on throughout the day.
The tricky part is creasing! In general, the condition of your eyes is reflected in the concealer. The Vanish Concealer is really good with creasing, but if you have dry eyes then this concealer will crease. One of my best tricks is to mix your concealer with your moisturiser. It takes care of most of the creasing.
The concealer has a matte finish which makes it ideal for oily and shiny skin. It will keep the oil at bay all day! It looks extremely natural on and will brighten your whole appearance.
As good as the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer is, there has been criticism about the lack of colour range. The shade range for the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer has been quite a letdown for many people. For me, their concerns are understandable since there should be more inclusivity when coming out with makeup products like concealers and foundations, especially in 2020! It seems like their tactic with these collections, is to release 20 shades that they know would sell instead of releasing a full-wide range of shades.
Other than that, the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer is undoubtedly a great addition to your makeup collection. Not only does it cover, but it will also brighten up your under eyes! What makes this stand out is, this is uncomplicated, buildable and blendable. You can apply this daily under your eyes and to problem areas. On days that you don’t want heavy foundations, this is a great alternative for a simple and natural-looking base and since a little goes a long way, you will have plenty of product to use!
This Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer will undoubtedly cater to anyone who needs a little concealing. With its lightweight and great coverage, this is great value for money and will last you a long time. This concealer doesn’t disappoint.
New things that are coming to Hourglass later on this year is a concentration on going vegan with their ingredients. I am also looking forward to seeing this movement and the wonderful products that will come with it. With all that said, it’s time to grab yourself this wonderful concealer!
