Urban Decay has recently come out with the Naked Skin One & Done Blur On the Run. And it has pretty impressive claims. Urban Decay says this Touch-Up & Finishing Balm is the magic potion for lines, creases or any other unevenness in your makeup. They claim its an instant retoucher that blurs and smooths out everything. It sounds like the missing product from all our makeup bags. But before you go and buy it, let’s find out how it really fares!
What is the Naked Skin One & Done Blur On The Run?
Naked Skin One & Done Blur On the Run is a touch-up and finishing balm that is different to most finishing and setting powders. It comes in a nice packaging with a convenient mirror inside. There are 2 colours, light to medium and medium to dark. Its marketed as a finishing product for all skin types that will give you the perfect smooth complexion and blur out all lines and imperfections. It has a much creamier texture than most finishing products. They say this is to stop your skin from drying up and causing breakups in your makeup. They have achieved this with optical blurring pigments- whatever that means! It can be worn alone or on top of makeup. You can use it to touch up your makeup throughout the day too.
Now that you have a picture of what it is supposed to do, let’s see what it really does!
In general, I am a big fan of Urban Decay products. However, this one just didn’t do it for me. Firstly, it’s full of silicone, which I know a lot of products have, however, when I can, I try to avoid products with silicone to some degree. Silicone clog pores and generally has a bad effect on my skin which get clogged pretty easily. If I would have loved how the Naked Skin product applies and looks then perhaps it would have been worth it. But, I wasn’t too impressed with either.
My first issue was that I found the actual application quite tricky. It didn’t apply nicely and smoothly, I’m still trying to figure out the best tool to apply it with. Another thing, it doesn’t apply nicely at all on top of any powder products. It sort of just smears around with the makeup. Honestly, I’ve never come across a product quite like it!
Once applied I noticed 2 things. I have combination skin, so part of my face is oily and part is dry. Over the oily areas it did absorb the oil and gave it a matte finish. However, over the dry areas it didn’t work at all. If you have dry skin this is not the product for you. The other thing I noticed is that it doesn’t blur the makeup like it claims it does. It more just absorbs oil, which is nice but not what it is supposed to do.
Is it For You?
Overall, would I recommend the Naked Skin One & Done Blur On The Run? Probably not! I understand what its supposed to do, but have no idea what it actually does. This is a shame because Urban Decay products are usually really good and on target with what they are supposed to do. I recommend sticking to a regular setting powder that you know and trust!
Naked Skin One & Done Blur On The Run is paraben free and cruelty-free.
