When I hear Urban Decay, the first thing that comes to my mind are eyeshadow palettes. It’s not without reason- their eyeshadow palettes are beautiful and functional. And the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette is no exception! In fact, I like it so much that I keep thinking its a shame I never bought it earlier. Oh well! That’s life:)
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review
I recently did a makeup haul and choosing a palette from the Naked palettes is always a hard task. They all have such beautiful colours and its hard not to add them all to my basket! However, I managed to nail it down and I chose the Naked 2, simply because I think these colours are the ones I’ll get the most use from.
How did the palette fare?
The colours are all spectacular and look beautiful on. There is very little fallout when applying and the palette comes with a double-ended brush. The brush is not bad, although I’m a fan of using my regular brushes and not the ones that come with eyeshadow palettes. I’m not sure why, or if there is a reason actually, I just always like to use what I’m used to! We all have quirks, don’t we?!!
Below are swatches of the colours. I did two coats of each of the swatches. As you can see some of the colours are fainter than others. The worst colour is Foxy. It barely made an appearance at all. However, its good for a base colour for the eyes. It will even out any different pigmentation on the eyelids without it being noticeable. Bootycall also is quite faint, and even if used as a highlighter, a little stronger would be better. The same applies to Suspect. It’s more of a shimmery highlighter colour, but again, it could be a little more pigmented.
Aside from those few colours, all the other colours are highly pigmented and I love the choice of colours and finishes. There are 3 matte colours and the rest are shimmers, with some colours being more shimmery than others as you can see from my swatches.
The palette is cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
It a fab palette and I love it! The colours are neutral which means it can be used for an everyday look, yet it also has those shimmery colours, which makes it the perfect palette for a night out. It is on the pricier side but the quality matches it!
If I could change one thing on this palette it would probably be the shape of the eyeshadows. Am I the only one who finds the rectangle shape annoying? I think a square or circle is much easier to use. A minor thing but let me know if you have the same issue with the Urban Decay palettes! Apart from that I really love the palette! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and which Naked palette is your fav?
