Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation Review
After the huge hit of the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, when I heard about the new Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation, I had high hopes!
It’s like its twin foundation but in powder form. Let’s hope it’s as impressive as the liquid foundation!
What is the new Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation? It’s a vegan powder foundation with a matte finish that will give you flawless skin without setting in your pores and lines.
It’s long-lasting and lightweight with buildable coverage. It sounds like a product almost too good to be true! Let’s find out if the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation lives up to its claims!
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation
The goal of the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is to give you soft, smooth-looking skin that has all lines and imperfections blurred out.
Rihanna- Fenty Beauty’s founder struggled to find a foundation that would do this for her, so she went out and created her own! If only we could all do that;)
The Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is a full-coverage foundation that looks and feels light on the skin. With this foundation, you can say goodbye to cakey foundations that set in the lines and make your skin look older.
The foundation features a Blur Filt’r Complex, this unique formula stops the foundation from setting into your lines. It also helps to give you a blurred finish. It’s kind of like your favourite Photoshop filter, but one for real life, not just the computer!
If you think that’s all there is to be impressed about- you are so wrong! This foundation is also sweat-proof, humidity-proof and crease-resistant! Wow, wow and wow!
I love a foundation that doesn’t get affected by externalities, go to the beach, go for a run- your foundation will remain intact!
Fenty Beauty is known for its inclusive shade range and the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is no different. It comes in 50 shades to suit most skin shades and tones, from the very lightest to the very darkest.
If you usually have trouble finding the right shade for your skin, your prayers may have been answered with the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation!
During these crazy times, when the shops are all closed and we’re battling a pandemic, finding the right shade for your skin has its challenges.
Fenty Beauty has thought of everything, they have a unique foundation shade finder that can help you determine which shade is the correct one for you. It’s pretty accurate too, well, providing you give the correct info!
It has a light coverage that’s buildable to full coverage, but many people have found that it has more of a light to medium coverage.
While the claim of full coverage may be slightly exaggerated, what’s not is the claim that this foundation blurs lines and give a Photoshopped look.
Be prepared to be wowed by the airbrushed finish that you’ll get instantly after applying the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation!
Matte or liquid foundation?
A matte foundation may be different from the ‘regular’, more popular liquid foundation, but it has its advantages.
The main difference between liquid and matte foundations is that liquid foundations come in every finish possible whereas, powder foundations only come in 2 finishes- matte and illuminating.
The other difference between powder and liquid foundation is what skin types they cater for. Liquid foundation is for all skin types, from oily to dry and everything in between.
Powder foundations, on the other hand, are more suited to only oily and normal skin types. Many people with oily and combination skin prefer powder foundation because of the consistency and the extra matte finish that it gives.
Another way to use this foundation is to apply it on top of the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, kind of as you would apply a setting powder. It will blur the foundations and give you an extra long-lasting airbrushed effect!
Fenty Beauty says that the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is suitable for all skin types including dry skin. I don’t have dry skin so I can’t answer if it really is, but it’s definitely interesting!
Application Tips
Applying a powder foundation is no different from applying a liquid one in terms of the process. Always apply a moisturiser, some SPF and a primer before applying your foundation.
Let your skincare products set before applying your foundation. Then use the sponge that’s included with the foundation and apply the foundation to your desired coverage. For fuller coverage, use a kabuki brush for the best results.

My Thoughts
Fenty Beauty has done it again! The Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation is one of those foundations that will become a keeper in your makeup collection.
It’s lightweight, comfortable to wear, gives you an instant airbrushed effect and it’s long-lasting! That sounds like a winner to me and I would say it’s as good as its liquid twin!
