Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation Review & Swatches

Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation is all about makeup that’s good for your skin. Natural-looking, ingredients that help improve the skin are a few of the claims.

I’m all about natural-looking coverage that does look or feel like foundation. A couple of my favorites are the Armani Neo Nude Tinted Moisturizer and the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Hydrator. The main disadvantage to both is that they don’t have SPF, which the Revealer Foundation has.

I decided to try out the Kosas Revealer Foundation to see if it can become my next go-to foundation! Continue reading this review to find out if it lives up to its claims.

What is Kosas?

Before we get into the details of the new Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation, here’s a little background info on the brand. Kosas is all about clean makeup that improves your skin quality while also giving you the maximum benefits from makeup. Launched in 2015, it quickly became a well-known and recognised brand.

They feature vegan and cruelty-free makeup from lipsticks to foundations and eye makeup. With its unique formulas that are good for the skin and double up as skincare products, it’s a makeup brand recommended for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Kosas makeup helps the skin improve throughout the day. It’s all about making you look and feel good without compromising the health of your skin!

Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF 25 Claims

This medium-coverage liquid foundation boasts some fabulous skincare ingredients. It has a lovely natural finish that visibly smoothes texture and minimises pores. Kosas claims it gives a second-skin appearance, and once on, you can barely feel you’re wearing it.

Ingredients

Shades

Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation has an SPF of 25 and comes in 36 shades. Eventhough there is a vast range of shades, most of them are for medium skin colours as appose to the very fair and very dark.

If you have a medium skin tone then that’s great, but if your skin is on either end of the spectrum, you may have a more challenging time finding your shade. Check out my review on 40 brands that each have over 40 foundation shades.

I got the second fairest shade- 110, which is very light with neutral undertones.

Application

Applying the Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation is smooth and easy. The texture feels more like a foundation than a tinted moisturizer does, which did surprise me. I was kind of expecting a thinner texture because of its skincare ingredients. Perhaps I shouldn’t have had those expectations, after all, it is labelled a foundation, not a tinted moisturizer!

The texture is silky and applies smoothly to the face, blending beautifully.

Coverage and Finish

The foundation has a medium coverage that has a lovely natural, glowy finish. It blends seamlessly into the skin leaving the skin with a glow that isn’t shiny!

Wear Test and Honest Review

The most important factor when it comes to my foundation is that it looks natural. I can’t stand it when a foundation enlarges pores and when it clings to dry skin. A foundation is supposed to make your skin look better, let’s find out if the Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation lives up to its claims.

After applying my regular moisturizer, I applied 2 pumps of foundation which was loads! The foundation glides onto the skin and blends seamlessly. I love how comfortable it feels, and throughout the day, I barely notice I’m wearing foundation at all. It also looks flawless, giving my face a smooth canvas and I absolutely love how it covers and minimizes my pores!

But, the big question is, does it last? The foundation is designed to last 8 hours a day, and it most definitely does! However, it doesn’t last as perfectly as my go-to tinted moisturizers. After about 3-4 hours, it became a bit dry around my nose, mouth and forehead.

Although it feels hydrating and I love the fact that it has SPF, I think it’s more suited for combination to oily skin, rather than my skin which has become on the drier side. That being said, on the days when my skin feels more hydrated, I can see it lasts better.

Will I continue using the Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation? Yes! Applying the foundation before my moisturizer dries has really helped it from drying out and I still find it more hydrating than regular full-coverage foundations.

There’s so much I love about the foundation, from the glow it gives my skin, to the minimized pores, the SPF and the natural finish. I still prefer using my tinted moisturizer, but for the days when I want extra coverage and SPF, this is the foundation I turn to!

Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation is an impressive foundation that has a lot of positive factors! If you can find the right shade for your skin, it may just become your favourite foundation. Hopefully, Kosas will improve the shade range, but for now, it’s got loads to offer for the right skin shade.

I love that it’s all about getting better skin with natural coverage. Gone are the days when caking yourself in makeup is the rage and we’re grateful for that!
