Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 Review
Rare Beauty is a relatively new brand by Selena Gomez, and to be honest, I didn’t give it too much thought or attention for a while.
The reason is, these days every other celebrity is coming out with their own beauty brand, and quite frankly, often it’s just an easy way for them to make money. Their brands aren’t particularly impressive and more often than not, they hire someone to do all the work.
This may be the case for most celebrity makeup brands, but there are some exceptions! I love Fenty Beauty, (as you can probably tell from my many reviews,) and from what I’ve seen of Rare Beauty, it’s giving me the same vibes!
In their own words, Rare Beauty is all about “makeup made to feel good in, without hiding what makes you unique—because Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but being who you are”. Their motto is, be yourself and be proud of it!
With natural makeup on the rise, and more and more people opting for makeup that doubles up as skincare, we’re seeing a lot more tinted moisturizers.
Rare Beauty has jumped on the bandwagon and has just released its own tinted moisturizer- Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20.
Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20
Do you love the no-makeup makeup look? Look no further than the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20!
It’s the perfect product to get hydrated, naturally radiant skin with a blurred skin finish. Get all your moisturizing needs with some natural-looking coverage.
On top of all that fabulousness, the moisturizer also has built-in broad-spectrum sunscreen with vitamin E. Nowadays, makeup needs to come with everything and that’s exactly what this moisturizer does!
It protects your skin without any sticky, oily feeling that many sunscreens leave the skin with.
If sunscreens are your jam, then you will know there are physical sunscreens and chemical ones. To sum up the differences- “Physical (mineral) sunscreens sit on the surface of your skin and act as a shield, while chemical sunscreens sink into your skin and act more like a sponge.”
There are advantages and disadvantages to both. You can read more about it here. The reason for mentioning all of this is because Rare Beauty has come up with a formula that has the best of both!
Yep, the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 has a combination of both physical and chemical sun filters giving you the benefits that both have to offer. Rare Beauty is indeed rare;)
Made with their signature Botanical Blend of lotus, gardenia, and white water lily that soothes and nourishes skin as well as vitamin E that protects the skin from free radicals.
The packaging is clean and neat in neutral colouring, much like the rest of Rare Beauty’s makeup collection and we love it!
The Shades
Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 comes in 24 shades of warm, neutral and cool. The shade range is impressive, especially for a tinted moisturizer, where typically there are fewer shades than for a foundation.
If you’ve used Rare Beauty’s Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, then finding your shade of the tinted moisturizer couldn’t be easier. The moisturizer shades were curated from the Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, I always like a brand that makes my life easier!
Finding your shade can often be challenging, but this little touch makes it so much more convenient! Refer to the image below to find your shade.
The tinted moisturizer is cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, suitable for sensitive skin, dermatologist-tested and non-comedogenic. Recommended for normal, dry and combo skin types.
My Thoughts
Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer is easy to use, gives you gorgeous naturally-looking radiant skin, gives your skin a smoother appearance and is super comfortable to wear!
Can it get better than that? It has all of the advantages that a tinted moisturizer should have, plus more!
If you love natural-looking skin but need some coverage then you will love this moisturizer! Another fab option for skincare mixed with makeup is the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint!
Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 can be bought from Sephora
