ColourPop Lunar New Year Collection 2022

A recent trend in the makeup world is to bring out a new collection for the Lunar New Year which is the Chinese new year.

Even though I don’t celebrate it, new makeup collections are never something to complain about! The more, the merrier!

And it’s no surprise that ColourPop is one of the brands to do so. They drop collections at any opportunity and we love it!

ColourPop Lunar New Year Collection 2022

Every year has a new zodiac for the Chinese. The zodiac for 2022 is a tiger that symbolises strength and braveness. While we’re not going to get into all of that, ColourPop has named the collection Get ‘Em Tiger Collection.

All of the makeup products in the collection feature an illustration of a tiger on the packaging which is of course red, the colour of the Chinese New Year.

The makeup is tiger inspired in colour, with beiges, golds and browns! It all ties together perfectly, not that we expect anything less from ColourPop.

The ColourPop Lunar New Year Collection comes with 3 shades of lip stain, a mini eyeshadow palette, a shimmering body powder and a Fourth Ray Beauty body milk.

Get ‘Em Tiger Shadow Palette

Keeping the best for first (yep, we love eyeshadow palettes!), we have the Get ‘Em Tiger Shadow Palette. It comes with 4 shades inspired by the tiger’s colouring, obviously with a little added sparkle because why not!

The shades are:

In the Wild- metallic pale rose gold
Best of Luck- metallic gold with red and silver flecks
Moon Mixer- a terracotta
Feline Myself- a matte warm brown

The formula of the eyeshadows is the same high-quality buttery formula that we’ve all come to love. They blend smoothly and easily and are long-wearing too!

Roar At The Moon Lip Set

If red lips are your thing then you’ll love this lip stain set that features 3 fearless reds! Each one features a different finish of glossy, matte and super high shine.

Show Your Stripes– This is a glossy lip stain with their first-ever hybrid formula. You get the benefits of the classical lip stain as well as the shine of a gloss.

The formula is loaded with good stuff like antioxidant-rich guava extract and lip-loving lychee extract to keep the lips fresh and hydrated throughout the day.

Hear Me Rawr– This is a moussey lip creme in a matte finish. This too has a hybrid formula, it has all the benefits of lipstick and at the same time feels like a lip balm.

It’s soft and creamy on the lips with hydrating ingredients like vitamin e and maracuja superfruit oil, ensuring your lips never get dried out. It’s buildable and non-sticky making it a dream lipstick!

It’s Grr Time– This is a lip lacquer in an ultra-reflective vinyl finish with, you guessed it, a hybrid formula! It combines the pigment of a liquid lipstick with the formula of a super-intense gloss.

Also infused with impressive ingredients like antioxidant-rich goji berry & vitamin e to soften the lips. To help with a creamy application it has fatty acid-rich mango butter.

Overall, these lip products sound like a dream, they give you the best of both worlds, soft lips that look gorgeous!

Lunar Or Later Sol Shimmering Body Powder

Get glowing skin with this fab shimmering body powder that can be used on the face and the body. Eventhough it has a shimmery finish, it is super buttery and blends into the skin perfectly.

The colour of the body powder is peach with gold pearls. It’s a beautiful colour, but, it’s probably more suitable for those with darker skin tones. On very light skin it will look too dark.

White Peach Body Milk Mini

This bottle may look like nice flavoured drinking milk, and sound like it too, but…it’s for your body! As part of ColourPop’s skincare range, Fourth Ray, the milk gives instant moisture to the skin without it feeling oily or sticky.

This isn’t a new product, but it’s fitting in this collection. Especially, with the winter upon us and we can all do with extra hydration for our skin.

My Thoughts

The ColourPop Lunar New Year Collection for 2022 is a lovely collection featuring makeup that you simply can’t go wrong with!

The pretty packaging is a nice bonus for good-quality makeup! ColourPop never fails to impress even with the huge amount of collections that they keep dropping!
