You may have noticed more articles on drugstore beauty, and that’s because living costs have gone through the roof here in the UK and I’m sure in other countries too!

One of the easiest ways to save money is to buy drugstore beauty in place of high-end luxury ones. Honestly, more often than not, the only difference between the two is the designer’s name and price!

I’ve put together the best drugstore concealers for all skin types. From oily and combination, to dry and mature, there’s an under-eye concealer for every skin type and every skin colour.

Creasing under the eyes and blotchy coverage will be a thing of the past. These concealers are hydrating on the skin, and the best part is they are all affordable:)

Although concealer is one of the easiest makeup products to apply, it’s also one of the hardest. This is because, throughout the day, the eyes and the muscles around them don’t stop moving.

That causes… the dreaded creasing! On top of that, if your skin is on the drier side, then you will have the additional challenge to keep the creasing at bay. But, the good news is, it can be done! With the correct care and the right products, you can wear concealer and be crease-free!

Below are a few tips for getting smooth concealer that stays in place the whole day!

1. Skin first

If you don’t look after your skin, your makeup will never look natural. Invest in a simple moisturiser and use it twice a day. Morning and night. Keeping your skin hydrated is the most important trick for smooth and flawless makeup. Check out these best drugstore moisturizers.

2. Use a primer

Use a primer after applying your moisturizer and before applying your concealer. A primer creates a barrier between your skin and your makeup. Instead of your makeup clinging to your skin, it clings to the primer.

3. Use a moisturizing concealer

Nowadays we’re fortunate that many makeup products have skincare ingredients, giving you the best of both worlds! If you have dry or mature skin that tends to crease opt for one of these concealers for mature skin.

4. Don’t use a setting powder

I’m usually a big fan of setting powders. They’re a great product for getting a skin-like finish. I have plenty of posts dedicated to setting powders. But, I don’t recommend using one for under the eyes- especially if you have dry skin. From a lot of trial and error, I can testify it simply does not work, it instead dries the skin out more!

5. Use a setting spray

6. Use a moisturizing foundation

Pair up your concealer with a moisturizing foundation. Like concealers, there are loads of foundations out there that have skincare ingredients, ensuring hydrated and moisturised skin.

My Thoughts

Drugstore concealers may be cheap and affordable, but that’s about the only difference between them and luxury, high-end concealers. As you can see, many of these concealers have fabulous, skincare ingredients as well as huge shade ranges and impressive staying powers.
