Is Krave Beauty Worth The Hype? Find Out The Truth!
Known for its simple skincare products, Krave Beauty has made waves everywhere and I had to get a piece of that fabulousness!
I’m not gonna give it all away in the first sentence, but to say I’m blown away is an understatement! I turned to Krave Beauty to get hydrated skin, and I’ve come out with lifelong skin care problems resolved!
Krave Beauty has made its stamp in the beauty world. They are known for simple, yet effective skincare products that are made from good-for-you ingredients. But is Krave Beauty really worth it? Let’s find out!
A Little Krave Beauty Background
Founded by YouTube star Liah Yoo who is originally from Korea, Krave Beauty products are all formulated there. And they are in line with K-beauty philosophy.
K-beauty is all about fixing the skin from within, not covering up the problems with skincare products. Krave Beauty’s motto is all about resetting the skin and getting it back to what it should be.
I ordered the snack pack, which comes with 4 of their products in mini. They’re a perfect size and an affordable option for trying out and seeing if they’re for you!
Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser
Starting this review with the Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser because cleansing is always the first step in skincare!
Cleaning your face without stripping it of its essential oils, or leaving it feeling tight has never been easier. This super gentle cleanser is exactly that. It cleanses to perfection without any of the negative impacts cleansers can have on the skin.
It has a good pH, as well as conditioning ingredients like oats, to ensure your skin stays soft and hydrated. Other impressive ingredients are obviously matcha green tea which is a fabulous anti-oxidant ingredient! Hemp Seed Oil seals all that hydration into your skin.
Ideal for those with oily skin, the Matcha Hemp Cleanser helps to reduce the oil and increase hydration.
It’s easy to use, simply rub the jelly-like formula onto wet skin to form a gentle lather, massage it into your skin and rinse it off. I used it to remove my eye makeup, it wasn’t exactly irritating but, put it this way, it didn’t feel good.
I don’t recommend using it for your eyes, there are loads of cleansers and makeup removers that are made for that. Whilst it’s slightly annoying to use 2 different products, I am really enjoying the Matcha Hemp Cleanser.
My skin doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable after using it, and I’ve noticed it’s a lot more hydrated. This is not only due to the cleanser, but all the Krave Beauty products in the snack pack.
Kale-Lalu-yAHA
Before we get into the Kale-Lalu-yAHA, I just want to get it out there: exfoliating is not a necessity! Cleansing and moisturising are the only skincare necessities. Everything else is a nice extra and can be very beneficial to your skin.
Generally, when it comes to exfoliating you need to be careful. Especially for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin like rosacea. Use with care and do not use more than 2-3 times a week.
Don’t exfoliate in sensitive areas like around the nose and mouth. Using a cotton wool pad apple one thin layer, about 3 drops of the Kale-Lalu-yAHA. That’s even for a gentle exfoliator like this one! How do you know if you need to exfoliate? If you have a build-up of dead and dry skin or small bumps on your face, exfoliating can really help.
Kale-Lalu-yAHA exfoliator has a good pH value, with less acid than most, making it a lot more gentle than your average exfoliator. Also formulated with hyaluronic acid and anti-oxidants, it exfoliates the skin, while soothing it at the same time!
I’ve only used it a couple of times, but so far, my experience has been good. It hasn’t irritated my skin at all, not even with a tingle, which is very common when it comes to exfoliators! See more exfoliator recommendations here.
Great Barrier Relief
This isn’t one of those products that you need to include in your skincare routine. It’s an extra, but… it’s a pretty phenomenal extra! Especially if you’ve damaged your skin barrier!
How do you know if your skin’s barrier is damaged? If you’ve been using too many different skincare products or if your skin is extra irritable or sensitive. Environmental factors can also cause damage. The Great Barrier Relief is the perfect reset button for your skin!
You will notice less irritation, less dryness and less discolouration. With moisturising ingredients, it helps to repair damaged skin and clear breakouts. It sounds almost too good to be true, except, it’s not! This stuff seriously works and I’m obsessed with what it’s done for my skin!
Made from an impressive cocktail that includes niacinamide which is known for its repairing capabilities, this cream is everything your skin needs after a long, busy day!
The Great Barrier Relief is lightweight and comfortable to wear. Use it underneath your moisturizer, or simply mix it with your moisturizer. You can use it in the morning and night, or whenever you feel that your skin needs a little extra help! The one negative to this product is that the smell is not so good. However, for the results you get, trust me, it’s worth it!
After using it along with the other products in the Snack Pack, my skin looks and feels so much healthier. It’s more hydrated, has a glow, has fewer pimples and amazingly it’s minimising my open pores! Honestly, I’m in heaven and so is my skin!
Oat So Simple Water Cream
Are you looking for a moisturizer that will tackle dehydrated skin, has only a few ingredients and is super gentle? The Oat So Simple Water Cream is the answer to that!
Lightweight to wear, yet extremely effective, the Oat So Simple Water Cream leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated without it feeling greasy. Made from oat extract which is known to be extremely moisturizing, gentle and soothing, it brings instant relief to irritated and overworked skin.
The only downside to this moisturizer is that it doesn’t contain any SPF. It’s always useful and convenient when you get SPF and moisturizer in one product.
However, for me, that’s not a deal-breaker. This moisturizer works such wonders on my skin, that it’s worth the extra hassle of using an SPF separately. Many foundations come with SPF, so you can always combine it like that!
This moisturizer has given me soft, hydrated skin that doesn’t feel greasy.
My Thoughts
After neglecting my skin for about a year, (you can read why here) my skin was extremely dehydrated and broke out too often. My makeup looked patchy and honestly, I felt pretty down because of it.
I tried reviving my skin with the regular products that I was using before the neglect, but they didn’t do much. It seemed to me that my skin was beyond repair!
Then I started using Krave Beauty.
To say that my skin has transformed is an understatement! In just 2 weeks, I can see a remarkable difference that is hard to believe was possible. Not only that, skincare problems, like open pores and blackheads that have been with me for years, are slowly disappearing.
I’ve spent thousands over the years on skincare products, as well as facials, and nothing has been as effective as these Krave Beauty products! I simply assumed that these would be lifelong problems, and to be honest, I accepted them!
From breaking out and looking super dehydrated, my skin is now glowing, and soft, and the breakouts have disappeared. My open pores are closing and so are my blackheads!
The change to my skin has been magical and wearing makeup looks so much more natural now. It no longer gets patchy or flaky! My favourite products in the collection are the Great Barrier Relief and Oat So Simple Moisturizer, they are like magic in a bottle (or tub)!
While it’s worked for my combo dehydrated skin, everyone has different skin, so I always recommend doing a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin. However, I can’t rave enough about Krave Beauty!
If you’re wondering if their products are worth the price and the hype, in my humble opinion, they are 100% worth it! Treat your burnout skin to the products it deserves! I can’t rave enough about Krave Beauty! I feel like a new person!
