My Pampering Session at the Clarins Spa

As a busy Mom, it’s not often that I treat myself to some pampering! However, being pregnant my skin has been terrible, I’ve been exhausted and I could really do with a little pampering!

There’s no better place for that than the Clarins Spa. I’ve always been a fan of Clarins products, which are all plant-based, now I’m totally sold on their facials too. I came out feeling like a new, relaxed person:)

Choosing the treatment

Since my skin has recently been breaking out a bit, which is probably due to pregnancy hormones, I decided to go for a good old facial. I made a booking for the Aromatic Balancer facial.

Usually, Clarins have a waiting list of about 3 months, but on the odd occasion when they have a cancellation you can get an appointment quicker. I booked my appointment on a Thursday and by pure luck, I got an appointment for the following Monday!

The Aromatic Balancer is a rebalancing facial which lasts for an hour. Clarins recommend it for ‘Oily, congested, dry, dull, dehydrated, sensitive… Whatever your skin condition, this customised treatment will rebalance and coax it back to blooming’.

Basically, it’s good for all skin types. At the time of the facial, they choose the products that are best suited for your skin.

Let the pampering begin…

I arrived at my local shopping centre in good time and headed to Fenwicks, which is where Clarins have a spa. When I arrived they asked me to fill out a form for any allergies and any medical information that they should know about.

After doing that I was led to a small room by the lovely Lucy, who would be giving me the facial. It was hard to believe I was still in a shopping centre! There was calming music playing, warm dimmed lights and it smelt amazing.

I was instantly transformed into another luxurious world.

I got myself ready and got into bed. The bed was AMAZING. It was heated and oh-so comfortable, I literally wanted to take it home with me!

Before Lucy began the facial she asked me a couple of questions about my skin type and any problem areas that she should address. This is so that she would use the right products for my skin. After that, it was time for relaxing! I closed my eyes and switched my non-stop mind off.

Lucy started off by massaging oil into my shoulders, hands and feet. After that she cleansed my face and removed my makeup and in between using some more products I got a few more shoulder massages!

To rinse off the products she used a heated wet flannel which was a real treat. Towards the end, Lucy put a mask on my face and let it sit for a couple of minutes.

While it did tingle a little it was well worth it because when the facial was over my face was glowing in a way that I haven’t seen in years. My skin was super clean and I hope you don’t mind me using this expression but as soft as a baby’s bottom!

My Thoughts

I know many people think that facials work better when spots and blackheads are squeezed out. However, after this facial, I was convinced otherwise.

My skin looked even cleaner and definitely softer than when I had the former type of facial. I can’t recommend the Aromatic Balancer enough. I felt so pampered and I enjoyed every minute of it.

If you want a pampering experience with glowing skin, Clarins is the place you need to go! My only regret is that I can’t go every month:)
