When I think of Disney and collaborations the first thought that pops into my head is ColourPop.
They often have collaborations with Disney so it’s a nice change to see one with Makeup Revolution, and it’s even nicer that this time the collab is on my home soil- the UK!
Makeup Revolution has done a Disney collab once before- the Revolution x Disney The Night Before Christmas collection.
Judging from the success of that collab, I have high hopes for the newest release, the Disney Storybook collaboration– their most magical collection yet!
This collection is based on the stories of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and The Princess and the Frog.
Some of the collection has been released, and some of it is coming soon. Rumour has it that the collection is running out pretty fast, so if you want it, you gotta be quick!
The collection features 3 iconic women from Disney: Cinderella, Bella and Tiana. Revolution has revealed the reason they chose these 3 princesses is that they all have the same underlying factor- that they were hardworking and inspiring before they became princesses.
I think all of us can remember as little girls just dreaming of being them! I know I can! Cinderella, in particular, strikes a chord with everyone- just look at how many Cinderella spinoff movies there are!
Now’s your chance to show off that inner princess strength that we all possess somewhere deep inside us.
The collection is split into 3 parts and they each come with a palette that has eyeshadows, blushes and highlighters, an individual highlighter, a lip gloss and a set of lashes.
It’s a really big collection with loads of products and the best part is they all have a Makeup Revolution price tag: affordable!
All 3 collections feature colours that symbolise the fairytale they are representing. And that’s not just the packaging, it’s also the colours inside!
The colours of the Tiana collection are all about those greens, mustards and purples, not just in the eyeshadow but in the packaging of the collection too.
It is packaged in a dark green which is very fitting with the fairy tale and of course, her dress! You can almost imagine a frog jumping out! Lol, not quite but you get the idea. The colours are gorgeous and have that princess feel to them.
One side of the palette has eyeshadows and the other side has 3 blushes and 3 highlighters. These colours and shades are everything you need to recreate Tiana to perfection!
The highlighter has a gold shimmery glow to it, probably not for the very pale like myself, but gorgeous otherwise.
The lip topper is in the same gold sparkly theme and the last piece are the lashes. These are made to give your eyes a volumised, fanned-out look, much like Tiana’s eyes!
One of the bravest women in Disney fairytales was undoubtedly Belle- she did go and live with a beast! The collection is packaged in red/maroon packaging.
Her eyeshadow palette features warmer shades with more mauves, pinks and a touch of blues. In the same palette, there are 3 blushes and 3 highlighters.
The shades are lighter than the Tiana palette and more fitting for lighter skin tones- much like Belles skin!
The lip topper is in a gold sparkly shade and the individual highlighter has a matching shade. Get the most voluminous eyelashes with the Belle false lashes, they have a stunning fluffy finish.
Cinderella made it from rags to riches, and you can (almost!) do the same with this fabulous makeup collection.
The colour of the packaging is all blue, much like Cinderella’s dress, and the colour story for Cinderella’s eyeshadow palette also features a lot of blues with some pink.
Like the other 2 palettes, this palette also has shades on both sides of it. On the other side of the eyeshadows are 3 blushes and 3 highlighters.
The individual highlighter that comes in the collection is different from the other 2. While they were both gold, this highlighter is a pearly pink shade.
The lip gloss is clear with silver sparkle and the lashes are the most natural-looking lashes in the collection. They help volumize, but at the same time, they leave the lashes looking natural.
Now that I can look like a princess on my face, I need to work on my figure! If only Disney can collab with a brand for that- now wouldn’t that be fun?!
In all seriousness, I love this collab, I’m not sure how much from the collection I would actually wear, because, it does strike me for those in the teens and early ’20s but who knows?!
I can definitely see parts of the collection being useful and I would love to buy it just to have it sitting on my dressing table.
It’s time to bring back some of that inner princess that we all have inside of us, and that’s exactly what this makeup collection makes me feel!
Have you tried anything from the Makeup Revolution and Disney collab? What are you most likely to try and if you did, which products are your fav? Let me know in the comment section below!
