Becca Cosmetics has just released its new Light Shifter Collection which includes two fabulous products- a tinted moisturiser and a setting powder! I love any product that helps us achieve natural-looking skin, and these new releases sound right up my street!

Light Shifter Dewing Tint and Finishing Veil

The Dewing Tint and Finishing Veil are joining the already-released Light Shifter Brightening Concealer, which has since been recalled because of a mould issue on the sponge part of the concealer. Aside from the sponge issue, this was a concealer that delivered results and had an impressive formula, I have high hopes for the new Dewing Tint and Finishing Veil.

The Light Shifter Dewing Tint is a sheer tinted moisturiser that gives the skin a beautiful glow and has a lovely dewy finish. It has impressive moisturising ingredients that will leave your skin soft and supple!

The moisturiser comes in 8 shades ranging from fair with neutral peach undertones, to deep with cool undertones. Although these are not a lot of shades, Becca claims that because the colour of the moisturisers is so sheer, it’s easy to match any skin tone.

As already mentioned, the ingredients of the Dewing Tint are pretty impressive. It contains vitamin E which helps to protect your skin from pollution and from the effects of blue light. It’s also infused with hyaluronic acid that gives the moisturiser its moisturising properties that hydrate the skin. Lastly, it has squalene and glycerin, both of which help to even out the skin tone and blur imperfections.

The Light Shifter Dewing Tint has a unique formula called ‘light shifting pigments’, this helps to reflect and diffuse the light to give your skin an illuminated glow and a dewy finish. I’m not entirely sure what this is exactly but it sounds good!

After using the Light Shifter Dewing Tint, there’s no better way to finish the look than to match it with the Light Shifter Finishing Veil! It’s a weightless setting powder that sets makeup with a beautiful satin finish. I love a good setting powder, and you can read up my review on some of the best setting powders here. Most of the setting powders in my review have a matte finish, that’s where this one is different.

The Light Shifter Dewing Tint leaves your skin with a stunning dewy, luminous glow to it, while at the same time giving your skin a filtering effect. In plain English, this means it gives your skin a blurred finish that looks airbrushed or Photoshopped.

Like the tinted moisturiser, the setting powder doesn’t come in too many shades. Becca Cosmetics believes that because of the sheerness of the product, any skin colour can match any of the shades. The Dewing Tint setting powder comes in 6 different shades, ranging from very light to very dark. It has a sheer finish that is buildable.

The Dewing Tint is loaded with good-for-you ingredients like hyaluronic acid, crystallized liquorice and green tea. Infused in these ingredients is vitamin E which has loads of benefits for the skin, primarily that it nourishes the skin.

The Light Shifter Dewing Tint and the Light Shifter Finishing Veil (setting powder) both have unique light shifting pigments that help to reflect light to give your skin an illuminating satin finish.

You can use the setting powder over any foundation, or tinted moisturiser and it will work beautifully with all. It will give your skin that filtering effect and a satin finish! It’s super-soft to work with and applies smoothly to the skin.

Because of its illuminating finish, I recommend this setting powder more for dry and normal skin than oily and combination for the obvious reason that those with oil certainly don’t need any extra shine. Aside from that, the Finishing Veil looks and sounds really impressive! It’s a product after my own heart!

Both the Dewing Tint and Finishing Veil are vegan, cruelty-free and formulated without all the bad stuff.

My Thoughts

I love the whole trend of more comfortable makeup and more natural makeup. I’ve always preferred being comfortable to suffering for the sake of beauty! I’m happy to see it’s becoming a real trend, with brands like Becca promoting it!

Both the Light Shifter Dewing Tint and the Light Shifter Finishing Veil are proof of this trend! Not only will these products be extremely comfortable to wear, but they will also look extremely natural while giving you good coverage and extra glow!
