Concealer or Eye Cream? Meet The By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer

There are loads of amazing concealers out there, but creasing can still be an issue, especially in winter and if you have dry skin. My usual trick is mixing a bit of moisturiser into my concealer to keep it smooth all day.

But what if your concealer was skincare?

Enter the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer. By Terry is known for its hybrid makeup that puts skin first, and this concealer is exactly that. With an impressive 87% skincare formula, it hydrates the skin throughout the day while still doing its job as a concealer.

The Hyaluronic range is one of By Terryโ€™s best-known collections, and it makes sense. We all know by now that without hydrated skin, makeup just doesnโ€™t sit right. These products are ideal for dry skin and anyone who needs extra hydration without sacrificing performance.

The Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer is the latest addition to the Hyaluronic Hydra range. Aside from its fabulous skincare benefits, it also works as a fab makeup product.

It covers dark circles and blemishes as well as, brightens and blurs the skin. It has light-medium coverage which is easy to build up.

Don’t underestimate the ‘lighter’ coverage, it has some serious staying powers! The concealer doesn’t budge once applied and it stays luminous and glowing throughout the day.

If all of that hasn’t impressed you, the ingredients surely will! The main ingredient is- you guessed it, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is known for its amazing hydrating qualities.

It locks moisture into the skin while at the same time boosting elasticity and smoothes and plumps lines.

Another vital ingredient is its Horse Chestnut seed extract. This helps to improve micro-circulation, which helps to reduce dark circles.

It also has hydrophobic coated pigments, these give the concealer its long-lasting powers and lumi-matte finish powers. At the same time, there are mineral-coated powders to give the concealer a soft-focus, second-skin feeling.

The concealer comes in 6 shades- 2 fair shades, 2 medium shades and 2 dark shades. Not a huge range of shades, but because the concealer isn’t full coverage, it works for most skin tones.

That being said, the lightest shade is nowhere near light enough for very pale and fair skin. My pale skin looked very orange, the Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer wouldn’t pass for a foundation, never mind a concealer.

This was quite a disappointment for me because it really is a great concealer. Hopefully, By Terry will add some more shades for us pale ones.

The Packaging

One of the most lovable parts about this concealer is the packaging and the application! The concealer has one of those click-to-release buttons at the bottom of it that you click to release some concealer.

The YSL Touche ร‰clat Illuminating Pen has the same applicator, while I loved the applicator, I didn’t love the product. Sadly, this one doesn’t work for me either, but if can find your shade, this may be your next go-to concealer!

Using the Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer

The concealer is super easy to use, and the applicator means that you can even apply it with one hand. Perfect for multi-tasking Moms like me:) After applying the concealer to the desired areas, blend it in with your fingers or a brush. The concealer is really easy to apply, and if you feel you need more coverage, simply apply another coat.

Is it for you? I’m not sure I would recommend this concealer to those with oily skin types, simply because it has a slight glow. If you have oily skin, you don’t need any extra glow.

However, I do recommend it for all other skin types, including combination skin. The reason is that many people with combination skin have trouble with their concealer creasing.

Since the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer is more skincare than makeup, creasing is not something you need to worry about.

There are a lot of things I love about this concealer, it’s hard to begin! Let’s start with comfort. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you’ll know it’s comfort first for me.

Makeup needs to be comfortable for me to wear and this concealer ticks that box! It is ultra-comfortable and lightweight with the loveliest texture.

By Terry got the perfect balance between the concealer being lightweight, yet also covering blemishes and the like very well. Although to be fair, if you have serious blemishes you may need a full-coverage concealer.

My Thoughts

Overall, the concealer is a winner of a product! The By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer is one of the best concealers on the market.

If you suffer from creasing and you find that your makeup doesn’t stay on well enough, then you need to try this concealer. You will be blown away by how amazing it feels on the skin and by how amazing it looks!

Say goodbye to dark circles with a concealer that will treat your skin throughout the day to keep it hydrated and healthy! I love hybrid products and it’s exciting to see more and more brands jumping on the bandwagon!
