Nabla Read My Mind Eyeshadow Palette Has Dropped
Nabla Cosmetics has just released a new eyeshadow palette, along with a whole new packaging design and concept! We love eyeshadow palettes, but this one certainly has a new twist.
Called Read My Mind Palette, it features 16 shades laid out to be read in different ways. Sounds confusing?
You’re not alone, the reactions I’ve seen are a lot like Marmite’s. You either love it or hate it, but before you decide let’s get into what the palette actually is and how you can use it!
Nabla Cosmetics Read My Mind Palette

One thing everyone agrees on when it comes to the Read My Mind palette is that the packaging is original. It’s modern and very different. It kind of makes me think of Scrabble, although I don’t think that was the intention.

The idea behind it is that the shades in the palette can be mixed and matched in more than one way. Mix it up by lines, by quads, or in any other way you can come up with.
At first glance, the palette is somewhat confusing, there’s a lot going on and it’s hard to know where to look first. I simply think there is too much going on design-wise.
However, the concept is a nice concept and the design doesn’t take away from the shades and quality of the palette.
Read My Mind Palette Shades
The shades are named in numbers instead of names and the lines have names. Scarlet is deep pinks and purples, Rose is rose-coloured shades, Sage is green and black and Honey is warm-toned gold, orange and brown.
The shades are not the most original ones out there and to be fair, there are quite a few overlapping shades with their Side By Side Palette.
However, that was a bestseller so perhaps Nabla is playing it safe! The Read My Mind Eyeshadow Palette features more green shades, whereas the Side By Side palette has a touch of blue.
My Thoughts
The colour story is pretty and there are enough mattes and shimmers to create many different looks. I don’t think eyeshadow palettes need so much going on to sell, a good palette sells itself.
We all know when an eyeshadow palette is of good quality, especially when we’ve come to trust its brand. Nabla Cosmetics is known for its high-quality makeup and they are loved for it.
Do I like the Read My Mind Eyeshadow Palette? The concept and design are cute and kitschy, but it doesn’t add to the palette. Sometimes less is more:)
However, the shades are pretty and their eyeshadows are known for their high-quality and lovely formulas, so you can have high hopes for the Read My Mind Palette too!
