Usually before I buy a perfume I like to spend a while researching and testing out a few. This is the first time I bought a perfume without doing any of that and I love it! I hope this Jimmy Choo perfume review helps you in choosing your perfect fragrance!
I wrote this Jimmy Choo perfume review because I have quite a hard time choosing a perfume and I wanted to make it easier for all of you!
The perfume I had been using had just finished, so I was a bit desperate. Since I was in the airport I went to check out Duty Free. I smelt about 50 different perfumes with no luck. Then I smelt Illicit.
What stuck out to me about the Jimmy Choo Illicit perfume was that the smell wasn’t too strong and overpowering and that it wasn’t too flowery. These are two things that I always look out for in a perfume.
I don’t like very strong smells- they tend to give me headaches and when I enter a room I don’t need all heads to turn because of my strong smell!! I also don’t like very flowery scents. It’s just a personal preference.
So what do I love about this perfume? Well, pretty much everything about it.
It’s an entirely unique fragrance and was developed by perfumer Anne Flipo. Illicit’s notes include a blend of ginger, rose, honey-amber and sandalwood.
According to Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo’s creative director, “Illicit embodies the daring spirit of the Jimmy Choo woman. She is alluring, hypnotic and lives her life to the full.” This is not me. Yet I do love this scent!
I also like the Illicit bottle very much . Its a clear glass cylinder with vertical ridges which is supposed to look like Art Deco, but I don’t know much about that. The bottle comes in a rose pink box. Indeed, very pretty packaging.
To sum it up this is one of the best smelling perfume I have ever owned. It has a warm, romantic scent whilst sexy and fun at the same time. It is perfect for an everyday scent yet at the same time also perfect for occasion wear. It’s also long lasting with the scent lasting all day.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Jimmy Choo perfume review. Would love to hear your thoughts and comments below.
