Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Review

If you love glitter eyeshadow then these Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow eyeshadows are for you! They are the best quality glitter eyeshadows that I’ve ever tried.

They have a metallic foil finish which looks absolutely stunning. It was love at first sight for me! If you too love glitter I’m sure you’ll quickly become a fan of the Stila Liquid Eyeshadows.

Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows

The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow eyeshadows are liquid eyeshadows that are super easy to apply, lightweight and comfortable to wear, and extremely long-wearing! Each shade is sold separately, but of course, you can use more than one to complete your look.

They come in a clear tube with a doe-foot applicator. Stila’s signature colour is gold so naturally, these liquid eyeshadows feature a gold lid with the writing also in gold.

They are all really easy to apply and there is very little fallout. This is quite unique with glitter, usually, when applying a glitter product, glitter falls everywhere. Yes, that means you can apply your foundation before your eyeshadows and the glitter won’t ruin it!

I was a bit confused as to how many colours The Stila liquid eyeshadow has. Sephora has 13 colours, but they are the only shop that stocks so many colours, so I assume that some of the colours are exclusive to them.

On Stila’s website, there are 10 colours. However, I was only able to get hold of 8 colours. Oddly enough most shops only stock 8 colours so these are the ones I’m going to review.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Shades

The 8 colours I’m reviewing are all beautiful neutral colours. If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you’ll know how I’m obsessed with neutrals. They go with every outfit and they basically just enhance your natural beauty. When I saw these Stila liquid eyeshadow colours my heart did a little flip!

From L-R the colours are Bronzed Bell, Diamond Dust, Gold Goddess, Kitten Karma, Molten Midnight, Rose Gold, Smokey Storm and Smoldering Satin.

My experience with the Stila Liquid Eyeshadows

The biggest surprise I had when trying out the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow eyeshadows was how opaque they are, with most of the colours being fully opaque. I would never have believed it to be possible to make such opaque, intense glitter.

The best way to apply the liquid eyeshadows is to softly dab your eyelid with the doe-foot applicator. Don’t rub hard as this will cause fallout. Once you have applied the glitter with the applicator you can blend it softly with a brush.

Do this quickly as there is only a small window of time until the glitter dries. Once it’s dry, if you try to blend the glitter there will be fallout. However, if you apply it correctly you won’t have any issues.

You can apply a lot for a full-on glittery eye, or if you want a more subtle look with a slight shimmer, apply only a bit. These eyeshadows are very versatile.

Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow

The glitter feels incredibly lightweight on the skin- you’ll barely notice you’re wearing it at all. They also stay in place all day. If you generally have trouble with your eyeshadow creasing, I recommend using an eyeshadow primer under your eyeshadow.

My Thoughts

The Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Stila Liquid Eyeshadows are worth every penny. The colours are beautiful, the application easy and smooth, and their staying power is simply amazing. I don’t have a bad word to say about these eyeshadows.

What I particularly love about the glitters is how they wash off so nicely. Usually, when you wash off glitter you can feel it scratching against your skin.

The glitter in these eyeshadows is so fine that they wash off like all other makeup products. They don’t irritate the skin at all! I love them and I think anyone who wants that added sparkle in their life will love these too.

  1. Nice and clean blog! I love the rose gold color and I also love neutral colors! I haven’t tried much Stila products. I’m having Sephora withdrawals! How long does the liquid eye shadow last once it’s applied? Does it smear or have any glitter fallout? Do you plan on adding makeup tutorials?

    1. Thanks:) There are lots of other shops that sell these too, you don’t have to go to Sephora;))  Once applied the shadows last the whole day. There is no smearing and if you apply it correctly there is no fallout.

  2. I’ve often seen glitter eyeshadows that are hard and hurt my eyelids, but this one looks so smooth and soft! I really like the neutral tone colors and the fact that it can be wiped off easily without scratching your skin. Thanks so much for the info! Do you recommend blending it with a brush or just dapping it on as is?

    1. You can apply with a brush or finger depending on what you prefer. It applies beautifully with both, personally, I like applying glitter with my finger.

      Have a lovely evening!

  3. Hollie, my heart did a little flip when I saw these beautiful neutral colors.   I’ve been considering trying a glitter eye shadow to get add just a little sparkle.   The thing that has held me back from trying a glittery eye shadow was concern that the glitter would be scratchy.  I have also been concerned that some might fall off as the day progressed and get into my eyes.    So, I appreciate you sharing your experience.    Thanks!

    1. Aww you’ll love them:)

      Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for sharing with us this wonderful review on stila liquid eyeshadow.Any post related to make up I feel interested because I am good at using make up.

I found Stila ver attractive and I wish I could use it and compare it with other eyeshadow I am using.

You are helping women to find nice make up which increase their beauty.

  5. I’ve been using powder eye shadow for as long as I can remember but this year I am looking to try liquid eye shadows, for a change. I’m just not sure exactly how to apply them and if I can do it as quickly as possible. I think powder eye shadows are pretty much easier to apply.

By the way, I like natural colors too. Glitters? I hope they’re not that glittery and sparkly as I do not want to attract too much attention from my co-workers who are not used to seeing me wearing shiny and colorful make ups. In regards to the shades or colors, can all of these be worn during the day? What about washing them off, do I need to use make up remover? Because with powder eye shadows and blush on, I just wash them off with soap and water.

    1. It’s harder to mess up with powder eyeshadow but once you get the hang of liquid eyeshadows, they are pretty easy to use.

Generally, I wear glitters for evenings out or parties, it is probably a bit too sparkly for work. However, if you want to wear them to work you can just apply less.

Washing them off is really easy, they should come off fine with water and soap.

I do like this post and I love make up and this looks like colors that would look amazing when going out, just to help give light and that kind of little sparkle to your eyes. Would you apply with a base eye shadow primer or does it last without?

  7. These look amazing!  Such vibrant tones!  I like the variety of colours.  I like the look of bronzed bell and smoky storm.  Thanks for reviewing them for us.  Which colour was your favourite?  I just have a few questions.

Can they be bought in stores?  Also, how big is a bottle?

    1. Hmm, choosing a favourite colour is a tough one! I think probably Kitten Karma is my favourite, but the truth is I love them all.

The bottles are 5ml. This may sound like a little, but because they are so highly pigmented, you only use a very small amount each time.

Sure, they can be bought in stores. Boots have them for £23.
