A new decade, a new look! Now that it’s a new decade, it’s time for some changes. Some of us naturally gravitate to change, while for others, a little push is needed!

And here’s that little push for you, I’ve brought you the biggest new hair colour trends this decade! With the right shades and tones, we can amp up your hair game.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a drastic transformation in hair trends, from jet black to ash white hair. From neon coloured hair to pastel shades. We’ve seen a rainbow full of different hair colour trends over the past decade.

Hair trends and hair colours don’t entirely go out of trend, but instead, they make comebacks with new techniques.

New Hair Colour Trends for the Reds

This decade, get ready for the extreme reds to the most subtle colours that will take over the hair world. Here are new hair colour trends that are hairstylists approved!

1. Rusty Copper

This beautiful burnt red shade adds so much dimension to a look! Copper reds and a few warm ginger hues in your hair will add vibrancy to your life!

2. Just A Little Bit of Peach

If you’re not ready to have full-blown red hair, try this warm-golden red which is a little more subtle. This shade will be a lot less overwhelming, yet you will still look beautiful.

3. Burgundy Red

Want to add a little spice? This vampy burgundy red will undoubtedly bring your sultry and playful side out in the open.

New Hair Colour Trends for the Blondes

Blondes never go out of style! And they do have a lot more fun. This year it’s all about cooling it down and having effortless-looking colours!

4. Blonde With Black Roots

Whether you want blonde hair or you already have white locks, this year’s balayage look is a continuous fashion. The contrast of darker roots to the all-over blond looks effortless and on-trend.

5. Ice Cold Hair

Pale ash-blond is the way to go this year. Cooler shades with ashy undertones are your best options when going cool.

To upkeep the colour, opt for a purple shampoo, check out our recommendations here!

6. Buttery Blonde

While ash-blond hair is beautiful, the upkeep isn’t the easiest. If you’re wondering how to amp up your blonde, go for a more buttery blonde.

With a perfect yellowy blonde that is not brassy, it will be easier to upkeep and look gorgeous. Go hard on the light iridescent gold blonds, light to medium gold, and light to medium warm gold hues!

New Hair Colour Trends for the Brunettes

Brown hair is always trending. We know how high maintenance blonde hair can be. With brunettes, you can still achieve a fun, and stunning hair look yet, without any of the blonde’s challenges!

7. Mahogany Brown Hair

This hair colour with the deep mahogany base and amber highlights is a beautiful back to basics look. It’s neither too brassy nor moussey, and looks gorgeous on any skin tone!

8. Chocolate Brown with A Little Splash

A combination of brunette and a little blonde at the ends will look dashing! When you’re not ready for a full-on blonde moment, adding a lighter blonde as highlights will give you a little taste of the blonde life.

Your hair will look beautifully textured and volumised! Now, who doesn’t want that?! Add a fringe for some extra glam!

9. Deep Autumn Waves

If you love your dark brown hair, spruce it up a little by adding warm-toned streaks like caramel, chestnut and auburn shades! It will give your hair more dimension and depth.

Style it with soft beach waves, it’s a look you can’t go wrong with! Check out these hair straighteners that can help you achieve the perfect waves!

New Hair Colour Trends for the Black Hair

For our naturally black-haired ladies, stray no further, black hair is up on trend this decade. There’s nothing like going back to your roots, especially if you’ve been dying and colouring your hair for years!

If you’re transitioning from blonde back to black, you will get the edge back in your look. Not to mention that your hair will also be healthier without all the chemicals that are found in colouring products.

10. Back to Black

Keep your look simple with jet black coloured hair. Dark coloured hair makes your hair look a lot fuller and shinier and it’s a great option for very straight hair. Combine it with a short lob and you’ll steal every show!

New Hair Colour Trends for the Pastels And Blues

All coloured hair will look fun and trendy nearly all the time. But this decade, lilac and blues (Pantone colour of the year!) are colours you will see popping up everywhere!

11. Lilac Hair

This icy purple hue will certainly add an extra oomph to your look! This colour purple needs a little more care than most other colours.

To take care of your coloured hair, do a weekly mask to neutralise any brassiness. Also, make sure to use one of these purple shampoos!

12. Blue Black Hair

Since the Pantone colour of the year is blue, you will be seeing blues everywhere. If you’re not ready to go all-out with blue coloured hair, you can always start with a blue ombre at the bottom! This looks sharp and exciting!
