The New Fast Base Foundation Stick by Makeup Revolution has taken the beauty world by storm. The sticks only cost £5. Yup, I’m actually not joking- £5 for foundation! Pretty awesome if you ask me, and the foundation itself is supposed to be pretty epic too…! Let’s get on with this review and see if it passes the test.
If you haven’t yet seen or heard about Kadeeja Khan’s instagram post where she uses the new foundation stick, I highly recommend you go and check it out now. She has severe acne and this Fast Base Foundation Stick has given her FULL coverage- possibly even better than some high end full coverage foundations. Her post went viral and the foundations were sold out within 2 hours of them being available. That is definitely a product worth getting your hands on.
The packaging is beautiful and when I first looked at it, it was hard to believe that it was the £5 foundation. It looks and feels like high end makeup.
The stick applies beautifully with a dewy finish. I’m not such a fan of a dewy finish, I prefer a matte finish. To fix this simply apply a setting powder after you apply foundation and your makeup will look and feel matte. It is very buildable and its so easy and quick to apply. After applying it you can blend it in with your regular brush or sponge. For me, it’s the beauty blender which always does a fab job!
The only thing that gives away that it could be a cheaper brand is that there is a slight chemical smell. However, its really slight and when you’re wearing the foundation you can’t smell it.
The Fast Base Foundation Stick is suitable for all skin types and is cruelty free.
Makeup Revolution haven’t only outdone themselves with the coverage of the foundation but also with the colours. There are 18 different shades to choose from. The colours range from F1 which is for fair skin with neutral undertones to F18 which is for dark skin with warm undertones. I am very impressed with the colour range, and that they have taken into consideration all the different undertones that people have.
From what I’ve seen the lightest shade is light enough for even the palest (myself included!) and the dark looks pretty dark too.
Where to Buy
If you are based in the UK you can buy the new foundation stick from either superdrug.com or tambeauty.com. They are only available online at the moment but they are coming to Superdrug shops on March 28th.. This makes it a little trickier for choosing a colour, but hopefully it won’t stay that way for too long. You can also check out my post on tips on buying foundation online- this will make the process easier.
If you are in the US you may have to wait a little longer to get your hands on one of these awesome foundations. If you just can’t wait, (and I don’t blame you for that..!) you can order from tambeauty.com and pay a small shipping fee of about $9.
Do I think this foundation is worth it? Oh YES! The quality is amazing, the packaging is beautiful, and all for £5….! Makeup Revolution have really scored with this one and I can’t recommend it enough!
