The New Fast Base Foundation Stick by Makeup Revolution is the trick for easy foundation, contour and highlight! The sticks only cost £5.99. Yup, I’m actually not joking- £5.99 for a quality foundation! Pretty awesome if you ask me, and the foundation itself is supposed to be pretty epic too…! In general, I’m a fan of Makeup Revolution products as you can tell from the many reviews we’ve done here on the blog! Their quality vs price ratio is nearly unbeatable! Let’s get on with this review and see if this foundation lives up to my expectations.
Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick comes in 18 shades with a mixture of warm, cool and neutral undertones. It has medium coverage but is extremely lightweight on the skin. Creamy to use, easy to blend, it’s a dream foundation! The obvious attraction to this foundation is the stick applicator. Easy to use, easy to apply, it’s a lot like applying lipstick, except it’s for your face!
The packaging is beautiful, it looks and feels like high-end makeup with its cream and gold colouring. I just love it when a brand gets it right!
The stick applies beautifully with a dewy finish. I’m not such a fan of a dewy finish, I prefer a matte finish, but don’t worry, if you’re like me there’s always a way around it! To fix this simply apply a setting powder after you apply foundation and your makeup will look and feel matte. It is very buildable and it’s so easy and quick to apply. After applying it you can blend it in with your regular brush or sponge. For me, it’s the beauty blender that always does a fab job! If you’re unsure of which brush you should be using, check out my post on which makeup brushes are for what.
Really all foundations can double up as a contour and highlighter, all you need to do is buy the foundation in a shade or two lighter or darker than your skin. And many people do this! It’s a great way to make your contour and highlight look the most natural that it can. What’s great about the foundation stick is that it’s the perfect applicator for contour and highlighter. Using a stick to apply your contour couldn’t be easier!
The only thing that gives away that it could be a cheaper brand is that there is a slight chemical smell. However, it’s really light and it fades once you’re wearing the foundation.
The Fast Base Foundation Stick is suitable for all skin types and is cruelty-free.
Makeup Revolution hasn’t only outdone themselves with the coverage of the foundation but also with the shades. The shades range from F1 which is for fair skin with neutral undertones to F18 which is for dark skin with warm undertones. I am very impressed with the colour range, and that they have taken into consideration all the different undertones that people have. However, if you’re struggling to find your shade, I have put together here tips to help you find your foundation colour online. Also, check out these 40 brands with over 40 foundation shades. You’ll be sure to find the perfect shade for your skin!
Do I think the Fast Base Foundation Stick is worth it? Oh YES! The quality is amazing, the packaging is beautiful, and the price may just be a big attraction too! Makeup Revolution have really scored with this one and I can’t recommend it enough!
