Baths are holy for me, it’s the way I unwind and relax after a long and tiring day! For some though, they need their spas! With spas currently closed here in the UK, many are missing being pampered in the lap of luxury and soaking in the most amazing tubs. I’ve brought you some inspiration on how you can recreate these spa-like bath experiences form the comfort of your home. It’s all in the details!
1. Flower Bath
Starting off with a bang, we have this fabulous flower bath which by the way, just happens to be outside. While you may not be able to copy that, you can definitely copy the contents of the bath. You can use fresh flowers or opt for dried ones. Flowers have aromatherapy properties and will help to relax to 110%! You can also add essential oils to top it off because why not make it even better!
2. A bath full of love
You may not get the view with it, but indulging in a bath like that will calm down the worst frayed nerves. The only problem with this bath is that by the time you’ve finished setting it up, you’ll be needing that bath more than ever! A little trick- get someone to do it for you, you know like a boyfriend, husband or girlfriend! My husband is amazing and does an awful lot for me, but I can’t imagine him ever doing this! Yep, even on my anniversary and that’s fine:))
3. Milk Bath
Feeling blue? Then you need to try out a milk bath. Milk baths have so many beneficial properties for all skin types, but its the best for dry and irritated skin prone to flare-ups. You can use any milk of your choice and simply use it like you would use a bubble bath. Dilute it with your water, add some pretty petals and oils for good smell and you’ll have yourself a lovely relaxing bath!
4. It’s all about the accessories
For some, the ultimate spa-like experience is not as much about the actual water as it is about the accessories around it. Surround yourself with luxury face masks, soothing lotions and calming smelling candles and you will duplicate this bath perfectly. Of course, don’t forget the much-needed drink!
5. Work of art bath
Take your bath to the next level by creating a work of art. Get rid of your purple mood with this indulgent purple bath that will be a mood lifter for anyone! Just looking at it makes me relax! As a side note- using candles in the bath may seem very romantic but don’t go in a bath with real candles, it’s not worth the risk of burning yourself. Using fake tea lights is the perfect way to create this look!
6. Is it Spring yet?
Surround yourself with pastel flowers and you’ll probably be able to convince yourself that its Spring right around the corner. Add some Spring smelling essential oils and you will be transformed into another world! One which is warmer and a lot less complicated!
7. Peony bath
Peonies are one of my favourite flowers! They are so beautiful, when I have a bunch of them in my house, I sometimes catch myself just staring at them for a good 10 minutes. Ye, they have that effect on me! Why not bring the peony beauty to the bath with you, they’re definitely a flower I want to get naked with! Style up the rest of your bath with plants, candles and pretty pictures and you’ll think you’re in a spa.
8. Witchy bath
Ideal for Halloween, or any time of year that you’re feeling a bit witchy! For some, that’s more common than others! Baths don’t always need to be pretty and floral, sometimes a red bath will take all the anger out of you and help you relax quicker. Get a red bath bomb and some dark red or black petals. Style up the rest of the bath with black and red candles and accessories!
9. Festive bath
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and you can join in the fun even from your bath! Keep your bath white so that it looks like snow and use red, white and green accessories to get it in the festive spirit. From red petals to mini Christmas trees and of course some candy cane snacks to keep your sweet tooth happy! Hot chocolate with whipped cream is the perfect finishing touch!
10. Citrus bath
A citrus bath is one of the best baths to truly relax and invigorate your body. Citrus fruits help to shrink pores, improve circulation and reduce sensitivity to cold. This is because of the vitamin C in the fruits making it the perfect bath for this winter months. Fun fact- this has been an old tradition for Japanese which many of them still do today. You gotta admit, it also looks super pretty!
11. Chill bath
This bath is quite high up on my list for must-do baths! It has everything you need to relax and unwind from a tiring day of running after kids. On days that I find everything too much for me, a chick-flick movie with lots of sugar is the ideal chill. It may not be healthy but it certainly does the trick! Get yourself a purple bath bomb and red petals and you will be in heaven!
12. Magical Disney bath
Another Halloween bath for you, even though Hocus Pocus is one of those movies you can watch anytime! Use a blue bath bomb with some orange slices and relax. My only addition would be the ColourPop Hocus Pocus makeup collection to be on display too. You know, to get into the spirit properly!
Nowadays, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to all the different products we have available to help us relax in the bath. Really the sky’s the limit! From regular old fashioned bubble baths and salts to more exciting options like bath bombs, dried flowers, bath petals and essential oils. Spa-like experiences from the comfort of your home have never been easier so go on and spoil yourself!
