Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter
Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter was practically a bestseller before it was even out. That’s because the cream-powder version of the KillaWatt Freestyle Highlighter is a real win!
As you may well know, we generally love Fenty Beauty, from its foundations to bronzers and eyeshadows.
The makeup is high quality, not to mention beautiful, so we had high hopes for the Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter. Let’s find out if it’s worth investing in!
Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter

Do you love a dazzling highlighter? Then you’ll love the Liquid KillaWatt highlighter. It gives the skin a brilliant shine, that’s buildable and transfer-resistant.
You can use it anywhere where you want a little extra oomph and shine. It’s very versatile, you can apply it to your cheekbones, brow bone, and cupid’s bow. You can also mix it with your foundation or moisturizer for an all-over glow.
It dries down quickly but one thing to be aware of is that it’s very glittery. If you love an intense shimmer, you’ll love this highlighter, but, know that the glitter can make it somewhat difficult to blend.
Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter comes in a lovely classy tube packaging with each tube being the colour of the highlighter.
The shades
It’s available in 5 pretty shades for all skin colours. From very light gold to gorgeous bronze, it covers very pale as well as deep skin shades.
The shades are:
- Sidechick
- Vintage Velour
- Hu$tla Baby 2.0
- Honey Hawtie
- Butta Brownie
Is a liquid highlighter for you?
Liquid products in general, are better for dry and aging skin than powder products, because they don’t settle in the lines, nor do they dry out the skin. They tend to look more natural and blend into the skin better.
That being said, when it comes to a highlighter, those with mature or ageing skin need to be a little more careful. You don’t want to attract attention to lines and wrinkles, which is what shimmer and shine tend to do.
If you have oily skin and open pores, you may find that a liquid formula isn’t for you either. Liquid products can ‘get stuck’ in open pores and oily skin often looks oilier with liquid products.
The key is finding the correct balance with the correct product. Use a highlighter that’s not too shimmery and that’s not easily ‘overdone’.
Highlighters should complement your skin, not make your face visible from space. To be honest, I’m not sure where the Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter fits in.
The glitter can be annoying for some and it can make the highlighter more difficult to work with. Another thing to note is that you’d expect a liquid highlighter to be a little more hydrating on the skin.
My Thoughts
It’s safe to say that the Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter doesn’t quite live up to the hype of the powder version. While the highlighter is a high-quality and versatile product, it may not work well for everyone.
One thing Fenty Beauty can brag about is the shade range. It’s inclusive and there’s a shade for every skin tone.
If the highlighter would be by a budget brand, I would say it’s worth investing in because it has good points too.
However, since it’s pricey and has other disadvantages mentioned, I just feel it’s not as wow as everyone was expecting it to be.
That being said, if you love your glitters, Fenty Beauty Liquid KillaWatt Fluid Freestyle Highlighter is a great choice for you, because glitter you will get, just make sure to apply a small amount at a time so that it doesn’t go streaky!
