ColourPop New Lizzie McGuire Collaboration With Disney

I don’t know what teens are watching these days, but way back when I was a lot younger, Lizzie McGuire was all the rage! It was fun, relatable and perfect for moody teenagers!

I love it when ColourPop brings back movies from my youth, with it, they bring back such good memories that feel like a lifetime ago. To mention a couple- The ColourPop Disney Hocus Pocus Holiday Collection and The Bambi Collection.

After checking out the new ColourPop Lizzie McGuire collab, no doubt today’s teens will be tuning into the Lizzie McGuire series!

This collection just has that effect on people;) I’ve wasted far too much time today rewatching some of my favourite series because of it! Anyways, onto the collection…

ColourPop Lizzie McGuire Collection

My first impression of the ColourPop Lizzie McGuire Collection is that wow, this is one fun collection! Love pink and glitter? Well, you’ll love this collection.

ColourPop doesn’t know how to do things small, and the Lizzie McGuire Collaboration is no exception!

It features a 12-pan eyeshadow palette, 4 plumping lip glosses, 2 glitter gels, 2 pressed powder blushes and lip scrub. So yes, a lovely-sized collection with beautiful packaging and beautiful colours! Let’s get into the products!

What Dreams Are Made Of Eyeshadow Palette

ColourPop Lizzie McGuire eyeshadow palette

Anyone familiar with any of the Lizzie McGuire movies will recognise where this name comes from! In fact, growing up even my Dad and brothers knew the song, it’s that catchy! It’s only appropriate that the eyeshadow palette gets the best name:)

The packaging of the palette is super cute and girly with a cartoon image of Lizzie herself, at least I assume it’s supposed to be her! The colouring is pink and yellow with a touch of greens and blues, it also has a lovely floral vibe to it.

The What Dreams Are Made Of eyeshadow palette features 12 shades with a combination of matte, shimmers and metallics. The shades range from yellow and gold to pink and purple. All the colours are beautiful with the inside and packaging tied together perfectly.

However, the palette strongly reminds me of the Sailor Moon eyeshadow palette. Quite a few of the shades look identical. I guess when you produce makeup at the speed of lightning, it’s hard to come up with new shades and tones.

In terms of originality, the What Dreams Are Made Of eyeshadow palette is not the most original. That being said, it’s a cute and useful palette, and if you were a fan of Lizzie McGuire, you’ll have a hard time resisting it!

So Juicy Plumping Lip Gloss

So Juicy Plumping Lip Gloss

The So Juicy Plumping Lip Gloss comes in 4 juicy shades. There are 2 pink shades, one red and one clear. The packaging of these is adorable with an outlined sketch of Lizzie looking in the mirror. It’s a squeezable tube, making it all the more perfect for teens.

Pressed Powder Blush

Pressed Powder Blush

The Pressed Powder Blush comes in 2 shimmery shades, light pink and deeper pink. The floral theme that is so prevalent throughout the collection is embossed on the blush.

I love embossed blush, the only downside is it makes it harder to use the blush. Every time you use it, you know you are ruining the embossed. I’m waiting for the brand that comes up with a magic fix for that!

Glitterally Obsessed Glitter Gel

Glitterally Obsessed Glitter Gel

The Glitterally Obsessed Glitter Gel comes in 2 shades, a deep pink and cream. Both are obviously super glittery and shimmery. Glitter gels are one of ColourPops’ trademarked makeup.

They are loved because they are so easy to use and apply. Usually, you need glue to apply glitter, but ColourPops apply and stick beautifully without any glue or adhesive. They last amazingly and give a dazzling multi-dimensional sparkle.

Lip Scrub

The lip scrub follows the same theme as the rest of the Lizzie McGuire Collection. It has the same outline drawing of Lizzie on the packaging and the floral design too.

If ColourPop’s other lip scrubs are anything to go by, you can expect impressive results from this one. ColourPop’s lip scrubs are hydrating and nourishing. They leave you with soft supple lips in no time!

My Thoughts

The ColourPop Disney Lizzie McGuire Collection is a cute and fun collection! The only thing I don’t quite understand is who ColourPop is targeting. It’s clear that the collection is aimed at teens, all the colours and glitters and even the packaging is not something that women in their 30s are running after.

The only reason someone that age would be interested in the collection is if they are a hard-die fan of Lizzie McGuire and a huge makeup lover. To be fair, I can’t imagine that’s a huge audience.

On the flip side, are today’s teens interested in old movies and series? I know as a teen I certainly wasn’t interested in movies from 20 years before.

These are just my thoughts, perhaps I am wrong! Aside from that, it’s definitely a fun collection full of shimmers and sparkles!
