Sorry for the slow week on the blog this week. I’ve been stuck in bed with strep. I’m blaming it on all the homeschooling that’s been going on! Some people are simply not made to be teachers:) Onto more exciting things- ColourPops newest release!
ColourPop doesn’t go slow with their makeup releases with their latest one being a whole new Spring-ready collection-the Disney Bambi Collection. I love ColourPop, I love Disney, and when you put the two of them together, it’s a complete love story! This isn’t ColourPop’s first Disney collaboration. They’ve done quite a few, one of our faves is the Hocus Pocus Collection!
This year, more than ever, everyone is ready for Spring. It’s easy to understand why, with constant lockdowns and grey clouds, we could all do with a bit of sun to add some cheer into the day! I know that I’ve never been this excited for Spring and ColourPop has got it right on target with the Bambi Collection. The colours are beautiful pastels based on cheery flowers, green fields and of course, Bambis!
Colourpop Disney Bambi Collection
ColourPop doesn’t do things small and the Disney Bambi Collection is no exception! It features:
- 3 new 5 pan eyeshadow palettes
- 3 new eyeliners
- 3 new Lux Lip Glosses
- Pixie Pouf Highlighter
- New ‘Oh Deer’ Faux Lashes
Disney Bambi Eyeshadow Palettes
The eyeshadow palettes each consist of 5 shades. Each one has a light base shade as well as a dark, smokey eye shade. The Bambi eyeshadow palette has an orangey/brown theme, with a touch of gold. The Flower eyeshadow palette has a purple theme and lastly, the Thumpo eyeshadow palette has a green vibe with green, pink and purple toned shades.
All of the eyeshadow palettes are cute and useful, but I’ll be honest, the shades look familiar and they’re not the most original palettes. They remind me a lot of the Animal Crossing eyeshadow palettes that were released not that long ago. While the shades to differ slightly, the vibe and feel that the palettes give is very similar. That being said, these palettes come with 5 shades and the Animal Crossing palettes come with only 4. They may not be the most original palettes, but they are cute and affordable and if you love the movie Bambi, well, you’ll love these palettes too! ColourPop doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the quality of its eyeshadow palettes!
Disney Bambi Eyeliners
The Disney Bambi Eyeliners come in 3 new eyeliner shades. They are gel liners in a beige and 2 purple/mauve shades, one is matte and one is shimmer. If you love colourful eyeliners then ColourPop is the place to go! They have a huge range of shades in liquid liners and gel liners, and the quality is always top-notch!
Disney Bambi Lux Lip Glosses
Disney Bambi Lux Lip Glosses comes in 3 new shades of beautiful! Featuring a nude pink, a deep pink/brown and a purple. These lip glosses are probably the most original part of the Bambi Collection, well, the purple shade is at least!
Disney Bambi Pixie Pouf Highlighter
The Bambi Pixie Pouf Highlighter comes in the most adorable packaging and that pouf looks like heaven to touch! I’m not sure about the actual shade of the highlighter, it looks quite dark for a highlighter. My hunch is that it’ll work better on deeper skin tones, on my skin it will look more like a bronzer than highlighter!
Disney Bambi ‘Oh Deer’ Faux Lashes
No collection is ever fully complete without a good, old pair of false lashes! Personally, I don’t love wearing falsies, but for those who do, you’ll love these Bambi lashes!
Overall, a cute collection, but not super original or exciting. I think the most exciting part of the collection is the packaging! The colours and shades are all a bit meh, and look rather familiar. It does appear like ColourPop is struggling with its creativity at the moment. But, that’s bound to happen when you constantly have new releases.
The ColourPop Disney Bambi Collection may not be their most exciting release, and it doesn’t come close to some of their other collection, like the Going Coconuts Collection. However, it’s fun and cute, and the packaging is totally adorable, with it’s green and purple colour theme running throughout the collection. Also, the feeling of Spring is a most welcoming one, and this collection has all the shades of Spring in it! If you love the Bambi movie, you’ll love the ColourPop Disney Bambi Collection and the nostalgic memories that it brings!
