Christmas Makeup Ideas To Try Out This 2023

Get creative this holiday season by trying out some fun and different Christmas makeup ideas! From classic holiday looks to out-of-the-box original ones, there’s something for everyone!

We’ve put together some of the best Christmas makeup ideas that you can try out this holiday season! Check out my post on inspiring Christmas nail ideas to get the full festive experience!

1. Rudolph Makeup

One of the more fun, harder-to-mess-up makeup looks is this Rudolph look. The eyes may take a bit of time but you can customise the look to suit your needs and makeup level.

2. Ice Queen

We may not get much snow during the Christmas season in the UK, but that shouldn’t stop you from bringing some of that indoors. Recreating this ice queen look will give you some of that white festivity even when it’s grey and raining outside!

This look is easy to recreate, you can change it to suit your needs and makeup level. All you need is white and blue makeup and plenty of glitter!

3. Festive Clown

If you suffer from coulrophobia, I recommend skipping this look! Coulrophobia is a funny thing and while I don’t suffer from it, I don’t particularly like clowns.

That being said, my kids love them and would love to have makeup like this!

This clown look is particularly fun because it has the festive spirit, instead of the normal clown teardrops, they’re Santa hats in their place!

4. Fairy Lights Makeup Look

Bring the colour and dazzle of the fairy lights to your face with this lit fairy light look!

This look is fun and easy to create, you don’t need to be a pro at makeup to recreate it. It’s also easy to customise and you can change the colour of the lights to suit your liking, after all, fairy lights can be any color!

5. Santa Sleigh

Jump into the starry night with this Christmas Sleigh. This look may not be the easiest to pull off, but it sure is effective and dreamy!

If you are looking to kill time this look is perfect. It will take time and skill, but also be prepared for lots of fun!

6. Glamorous Green and Red

Simple, yet elegant. Add some class to your makeup look this Christmas with this beautiful Christmas cat-eye look.

You can use any colours, but for the true Christmas experience, you need to use classic green and red. To tone it all in, match your lips to your red eyes!

7. Candy Cane Face

Can you ever have too many candy canes this time of year? I think not! If you don’t want to rot your teeth too much, bring the candy canes to your face with this cute makeup look.

The only problem with this look is that it may put you in the mood to eat candy canes!

8. Mushroom Fairy

Whether mushrooms are poisonous or not, one thing we can all agree on is that mushroom fairies have something magical to them. Transform yourself into a mushroom fairy with this fun makeup look!

Continue the look into your hair for the full effect!

9. Be The Present

Become the present this Christmas with a present makeup look. It’s easy to pull off and it can be for all levels, simply customise it to suit your needs!

10. Candy Cane Elf

This look is a fun twist on the classic candy cane look and elf look. What I love most about this look, aside from its creativity, is how effective it looks, yet it’s relatively simple to recreate.

Simply make red and white stripes across your whole face, leaving some space under your eyes for the elf eyes.

You can simplify the eye makeup to make it easier and quicker. I love how the elf ears also have the candy cane pattern!

11. Snow Miser And Heat Miser

From the classic show- The Year Without Santa Claus, this look takes the drama a step further by combining 2 roles, the Snow Miser and the Heat Miser.

Recreating this look will require a fair amount of talent, but it’s a killer look! The headpieces are for a blog post of their own! They are wow and worthy of featuring in the theatre!

12. Ice Queen 2

A different take from the previous Ice Queen featured. This look takes the word ice to a whole new level with the white, blue and purple colours replacing any visible skin. Even the contacts are white!

It also features a whole lot of bling in cool, icy tones! This look may take a while to achieve, but the results are well worth it!

13. Be The Gift

This Christmas unwrapping makeup look is quirky and fun and looks extremely realistic! You can choose any Christmas pattern for the wrapping paper, the part that takes a little skill is the edges of the open part.

14. Upside-Down Christmas Tree

This upside-down Christmas tree is quick and easy, yet still festive and fun! All you need is some glitter and sparkles to pull this look off.

Apply whichever Christmassy eyeshadow you’re in the mood for, this is a look you can’t really go wrong with, nor mess up!

  1. Wow these make up ideas are pretty spectacular. My favorites are the Santa’s sleigh and the candy canes. I’m not really a makeup person. I only where it whenever we go out for the evening, which is only a few times a year. I could never be that creative to actually achieve these looks. But I do thank you very much for sharing them. We have 2 artists in the family I’m going to share this with them. 😊

    1. These ideas are just for a bit of fun! You don’t need to be too creative:)
