Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand

The Contour Wand is a cream-based contour which comes with its own cushion applicator attached. I love this feature because it makes it super easy to blend the contour properly. Ideal for all levels, from beginners to professionals, it makes contouring really easy and fun.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Stick is available in 2 shades:

  • Fair-medium
  • Medium-dark

The Contour Wand also has a unique way to be used. When you want to apply the bronzer simply twist the tube to ‘On’ and squeeze the liquid out. For blending simply twist the tube to ‘Off’ and blend away! It couldn’t be any easier than that.

The contour applies easily and is buildable for more intense coverage. The texture is really lovely and soft, once applied it’s hard to see you’re wearing any contour at all. It blends beautifully, so much so, that it’s hard to go wrong with it! It doesn’t go muddy, or patchy, in fact, it stays intact all day giving your skin a gorgeous glow to it.

I know I said you can apply the Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer Stick with the in-built applicator, but for a more skin-like finish, I recommend using a damp beauty blender. No other method will give a natural finish quite like it.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand

Also known as the beauty light wand, in simpler language – the highlighter wand. What’s a contour without its matching highlighter?

When Charlotte Tilbury made the highlighter she wanted to ‘bottle the Beauty Light effects from the Hollywood red carpet!’ and it does just that! It has a beautiful glamorous look to it that would totally get you on the red carpet! Jokes aside, if you want to dazzle someone this Highlight Wand is the ticket to doing it properly.

Like the Charlotte Tilbury contour wand, the highlight wand has the same unique design. To use it, simply turn and squeeze the tube, then turn it off to blend the highlighter in.

The highlighter stick comes in 6 shades:

  • Goldgasm – gold highlight
  • Peachgasm – peach highlight
  • Pinkgasm – pink highlight
  • Pillow Talk – soft rose gold highlight
  • Spotlight – rose gold with silver light
  • Pillow Talk Medium – opalescent pink-copper highlight

The first 3 shades listed have a shimmer finish, and the last 3 ones have a radiant finish. There’s a shade for every skin tone and color which is super inclusive and my experience is that all too often, the highlighter is too dark for pale skin. That’s not the case here! That being said, to see more highlighters for pale skin, check out my full review.

What I love about the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wands is how natural yet glowing the color is. The highlighters give the cheekbones a gorgeous natural glow without that unnatural dumped look that many highlighters have.

Charlotte Tilbury got its highlight game right! The highlighter wand lasts throughout the day with the perfect amount of pigmentation! Use it the same as you would use the contour wand for a fabulous natural-looking glow!

How to apply contour and highlighter?

Applying contour and highlighter is really easy, especially with a cream contour and highlighter stick like the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Duo. You don’t even need to carry a makeup brush on you since it comes with an in-built one!

how to apply contour

Apply the contour just under your cheekbones, along the jawline, down the sides of your nose and just below your hairline. You can add contour to wherever you feel like you need some extra definition.

Apply the highlighter along the cheekbones, temple, chin and forehead. No 2 faces are the same, this is simply the rule of thumb on where to apply your contour and highlighter. But be creative and apply wherever you feel you need so extra wow factor!

My Thoughts on the Contour & Highlight Wands

Both the contour and highlight wands are a great asset to every contour and highlight addict! They are super easy to use and look so natural and flawless. I also highly recommend them for beginners to the contour and highlight game. They make the whole makeup process really easy and practically foolproof. It’s very hard to mess up with these contour and highlight wands.

A small point that people often overlook is that you cannot use a cream contour with a powder foundation. It simply doesn’t work, it will just turn your foundation into a blotchy mess. If you are using a cream contour, using a cream or liquid foundation is a must for your makeup to last and look normal!

If Kim Kardashians’ contour and highlight sticks were a sell-out then I predict these will be a double sell-out. They are of much higher quality than the KKW contour sticks and the Charlotte Tilbury blending sponge is also much easier to blend with.

Although I love both the contour and highlight wand, the main disadvantage is that since they’re Charlotte Tilbury makeup, they’re extremely pricey. That’s especially true considering how little product comes in each wand, meaning they don’t last all that long which is a big shame. If they’re within your budget, these wands are worth the extra splurge, otherwise, check out these cream contour sticks.

The Contour & Highlighter Wands are of high quality and do the job perfectly, for makeup artists and beginners alike. I also love how there’s a shade for pale to deep skin tones. Read here for more contouring recommendations for pale skin.

Another thing I love about these products is that you can buy the contour and highlight together in one Hollywood Contour & Highlight Kit. It’s a practical touch! Continue the wand trend with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wands!

  1. Nice review of Charlotte Tilbury Contour and Highlight Wand. I love how easily you say it is to apply this and how it is fool-proof for the newbie. It looks like a great product. Does she carry any lip glosses in her line of cosmetics because I’m always after a good lip gloss?

    1. Thanks for stopping by! Sure she has a whole line of lip glosses. You can check them out here
