Planning a COVID wedding? Well, don’t let the circumstances ruin your special day! Whether you’re doing a civil wedding or an ornamental occasion, chances are you’ll need to cover up with some face masks. That means half your face will be covered, but even if you won’t be needing a mask, you’ll still want to look glamorous, especially your makeup! While some may be comfortable to hire a makeup artist, many are not quite there yet. Here I’ve put together a few bridal eye makeup looks to give you some inspo. They’ll make any bride looking beautiful, and glamorous on the most special day ever!
Bridal Eyeshadow Ideas You Can Practice Doing Yourself
Weddings are a momentous milestone for anyone! That’s why it’s become customary to get stressed and plan it out for months on end! With so many decisions to make I’ve gone ahead and put together some of the most beautiful wedding eye makeup ever!
All of these ideas are easily doable for anyone, they look beautiful and are surprisingly easy to do. Give it a few practices and you’ll save yourself some extra bucks for the honeymoon.
1. Sultry Smokey Eyes
Fan of the fox eye makeup look? Well here’s a way to incorporate that into an elegant wedding look. It’s a soft, bronze smokey eye with a nice kickback around the edges of your eye’s outer corners.
If you’re doing this by yourself, try practising with a regular brown smokey shade. Once you’ve perfected that, you can brush on the wing as the last step. A look like this is edgy yet has a demure quality to it. To keep it that way, make sure to keep your brown colours in the light to medium range. You can really swap the shades for any colour you want- just keep them all the same tones!
2. Copper Eyeshadow
This look is beautiful, striking and pretty simple to achieve! It mainly focuses on enhancing your eye shape. And just like in the example, it works wonderfully mesmerising on almond-shaped eyes.
To achieve this, skip the wing from the last look and opt for false lashes that get wispier on the outer eye corner. Line the liquid liner to cover up any glue lines. The glittery bronze eyeshadow on the lower lash line projects a contemplative aura. If you like having a sophisticated look on your wedding day, try practising this look!
3. Wide-Eyed Peach
I love how minimal and simple this eye makeup is. It’s a lovely look help smaller eyes look bigger. This works best for those with deep creases, but others can get away with a cut crease to imitate depth.
What you’ll be practising for this bridal eye makeup look will mostly be the winged liner. Draw it thick towards the outer corner and reduce it so a thin stroke. An eyeliner wing such as this can make rounded eyes look more almond in shape.
4. Gold Highlights
No eye makeup look ideas would be complete without a smokey eye! This smokey eye is perfect for those with darker, tanned skin. The gold highlights really help to bring out the eye colour and flatter the skin colour. This looks to me like the ultimate soul-staring gaze with its really strong contrast of hues. What I love most is the gap in the bottom eyeliner that’s filled with gold. It looks amazing and creates a whole new dimension for the eyes.
5. Golden Teardrops
I’ve always wanted to try on an intense eye makeup that looks charming and not standoffish. Gigi Hadid as usual look as beautiful as ever and any makeup look works on her, but this look is perfect for a bride! It’s a bride-ready look and all that’s missing is the veil and white dress!
6. Sparkling Silver
This beautiful sheer metallic eyeshadow is everything you’d want for this era’s throwback aesthetic. This look is perfect for those who like a little glitter and sparkle in their look. Also, anyone can achieve this look, it doesn’t get much easier! Bold without using so many colours or depth. It’s perfect for an outdoor wedding particularly an ocean-themed one. Your sparkly eyes will match the sparkly sea!
To make this look less one-dimensional, notice how she’s done a bit of defining brown eyeshadow on the edges of the silver one. It gives the illusion of deep-set eyes.
7. Flushed Goth
I’ve been invited on one too many weddings where the themes lean on to non-conventional sides. It’s not so uncommon anymore for brides to opt for anti-white themed wedding tradition. If you’re planning to have one, I bet you’ll want to stray away from the typical nudes and no-makeup makeup look. This eye makeup could be right up your tastes.
This makeup look is fun and beautiful, and it can be done with any colours you can think of! Don’t forget to add some highlighter to your inner eye corners. I think it’s that subtle detail that makes this look wedding-friendly.
8. Cherry Smoke
For our hot pink ladies out there, here’s a bold wedding eye makeup that really coordinates with your persona. I can picture this on a bride walking down a garden aisle surrounded with pink flowers. I can even imagine this on an all-white or all-black wedding theme too, it’ll add some pop of colour! This makes an eye-catching makeup look. The bright pink honestly isn’t too loud, but bold enough to let your guests know who’s about to live happily ever after;)
9. Ocean Eyes
Blue perfectly complements brown eyes and makes them shine. Aside from that small detail, it’s a bold, yet glamorous look. I’ll admit, it’s not so weddingy but IMO, it would look stunning in contrast to a white dress. It’s perfect for an outdoor wedding where your eyes will match the sky! And if you plan on photos by the beach, these eyes will complete the look!
10. Complementary Colours
Did you know that using complementary colours creates a beautiful contrast that makes your eyes stand out? This makeup look does exactly that! Blue and orange are complementary colours and look at how beautiful it makes her eyes appear! When using complementary colours, you don’t need to go for a bold, pure colour. Go for a softer in between one and it will work just as well.
11. Neutral Gold
This is one of my favourite looks yet! It’s elegant, classy and totally beautiful! With its shimmer in the middle and matte smokey in the corners, it would make every bride feel and look amazing! Don’t forget the soft eyeliner and the fake lashes. This makeup look is all about the eyes stealing the show!
12. Smokey Eyes
If you love a smokey eye then you will love this look! The trick with this look is to leave the rest of the face natural so that all the attention goes to the eyes! Smokey eyes look hard to do but in reality, with a little practise anyone can get it right! Start with a matte base colour all over your lid, then move on to the smokey shade in the corner. Top it off with a neutral shimmer in the middle of your eyes and some strong black eyeliner. Don’t forget to wing it! To complete the look apply your fake lashes and put some mascara on your bottom lashes.
I hope these bridal eye makeup looks have inspired you! These looks will make any bride the prime focus. And whether you’re going traditional or off-road with your themes, I’m sure you’ll find one on here that looks beautiful and will put you in the spotlights!
